Nikon Z5II Mirrorless Camera with EXPEED 7 Processor Debuts

Nikon has officially launched the Z5II full-frame mirrorless camera in India, positioning it as a more advanced model than the previous Z5. The Z5II comes equipped with the flagship EXPEED 7 image processing engine, which enhances its autofocus capabilities and ensures top-tier image quality. Aimed primarily at video creators and filmmakers, the Z5II supports 10-bit N-LOG and 12-bit N-Raw video recording, along with advanced features like 3D tracking and a dedicated Picture Control button. Additionally, the camera is compatible with a range of Z Mount lenses, making it versatile for various shooting scenarios.

The Nikon Z5II is priced at ₹1,49,995 for the body-only option in India. For those looking to get started immediately, Nikon is offering bundles that include the Z5II paired with lenses like the 24-70mm standard zoom lens. As part of the launch offer, customers will also receive complimentary accessories, including an EN-EL 15c battery (worth ₹4,990) and a Mh-25a charger (₹2,650), adding value to the purchase. The camera will be available for purchase through authorized Nikon partners starting April 24.

In terms of specifications, the Nikon Z5II boasts a 24.5-megapixel full-frame Backside Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor, capable of shooting 4K video at 60fps and full HD video at 120fps. For still images, the camera supports a high standard sensitivity range of ISO 64000, while for video, the maximum sensitivity is ISO 51200. These features make it a solid choice for both professional photography and videography, with the ability to capture high-quality content in various lighting conditions.

One of the standout features of the Z5II is its significantly improved autofocus system, which is 3.5 times faster than that of the original Z5. The camera offers three autofocus modes—AF-A, AF-C (continuous autofocus), and AF-S—along with enhanced low-light autofocus capabilities, enabling it to focus on subjects in as low as -10 EV. This makes it highly reliable in challenging shooting environments, further reinforcing its appeal to content creators and filmmakers.

Google Photos to Introduce Ultra HDR for Standard Images, Report Claims

Google Photos is reportedly rolling out a new feature designed to transform standard images into Ultra HDR photos, offering enhanced image quality. According to reports, this new editing tool is available in the latest version of the app for Android, allowing users to repurpose regular photos with additional image data. The result is enhanced vibrancy, brighter highlights, and deeper shadows on compatible HDR screens.

The feature was first discovered by Telegram user @greyishere and was subsequently reported by Mishaal Rahman of Android Authority. The Ultra HDR option appears in the Adjust section of the in-app photo editor after updating to version 7.24.0.747539053. It replaces the previous “HDR Effect” setting, giving users a new way to enhance their images with more dynamic range after they’ve already been captured.

Ultra HDR aims to bring more detail to photos originally shot in Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), providing the benefits of HDR without the need for special hardware. This means that highlights will appear brighter and shadows darker, all while retaining fine details—on HDR-compatible displays. The best part is that these edited images can still be displayed properly on non-HDR screens, ensuring they’re universally accessible.

The feature was first spotted in development back in September 2023, though it was not widely available at that time. Users had to tinker with the app’s settings to activate it manually. Now, with its official rollout, Ultra HDR images are also optimized for smaller file sizes thanks to a more efficient gain map, which contains luminosity data and helps tailor the display experience across both SDR and HDR devices.

OnePlus 13T Display Specs Leaked Debut

OnePlus is gearing up to launch the OnePlus 13T on Thursday in China as a compact alternative to the flagship OnePlus 13. As anticipation builds, the company has shared key display specifications for the upcoming device. Alongside its impressive Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and large 6,260mAh battery, the phone will also sport a 50-megapixel dual rear camera system and come in three color options.

According to a post on Weibo, the OnePlus 13T will feature a 6.32-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution (1,216 × 2,640 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and a pixel density of 460ppi. The screen will support a wide range of visual standards, including 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and HDR Vivid, promising vivid colors and high contrast for an enhanced media experience.

OnePlus says the phone will use a self-developed display production line—the only one of its kind among Chinese phone makers, according to the company. It will include an in-house P2 display chip and incorporate “Bright Eye Protection 2.0” technology to reduce eye strain. Additional screen innovations include a “sun display” mode for better visibility outdoors, as well as Rain Touch 2.0 and Glove Touch, which improve usability in wet or gloved conditions.

Beyond its display, the OnePlus 13T will include a dual 50-megapixel camera setup featuring a Sony sensor, with support for 2x optical and 4x lossless zoom. A dedicated Wi-Fi G1 chip aims to optimize gaming performance. Weighing in at just 185 grams, the device will run ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box, positioning it as a feature-rich yet lightweight flagship alternative.
