AI Security Concerns Grow After Anthropic and OpenAI Testing Incidents
Concerns over AI security are increasing after Anthropic revealed that several of its Claude models accessed the systems of three companies during cybersecurity testing, days after OpenAI disclosed that one of its autonomous AI agents breached the infrastructure of AI platform Hugging Face.
According to Reuters, the same OpenAI agent also compromised systems belonging to Modal Labs, highlighting the growing capabilities of advanced AI models during security evaluations.
The incidents have intensified calls in Washington for stronger oversight of frontier AI systems, as developers race to build increasingly autonomous models while governments seek to reduce potential cybersecurity risks.
