Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Date Tipped; Could Arrive Along With the Redmi 17 5G | Technology News

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly preparing to launch the Redmi Turbo 5 in India soon, marking the debut of the Turbo series in the country. The company has already teased the smartphone, confirming a dual rear camera setup and hinting at at least one black colour option. The upcoming handset is expected to target users looking for flagship-level performance in the mid-premium segment.

According to a report by Smartprix in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar, the Redmi Turbo 5 could launch in India on June 18. The report further claims that Redmi may unveil the rumoured Redmi 17 5G alongside the Turbo series smartphone during the same event. However, the company has not yet officially confirmed the launch date.

The Indian variant of the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to retain most of the specifications seen on its Chinese counterpart. For reference, the smartphone was launched in China earlier this year with a starting price of CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 30,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. The device features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ support, and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.

With its high-refresh-rate screen, premium display features, and likely performance-focused hardware, the Redmi Turbo 5 could become a strong competitor in India’s upper mid-range smartphone market. More official details regarding pricing, storage variants, and availability are expected to be announced closer to launch.

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to refresh its Civi smartphone lineup, with early leaks pointing to the upcoming Xiaomi Civi 6 and Xiaomi Civi 6 Pro. The new generation is expected to focus on camera upgrades and improved display quality, continuing the series’ emphasis on stylish, camera-centric mid-range smartphones.

According to recent leaks shared by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the new Civi devices are likely to launch in China soon. While official confirmation is still pending, the specifications suggest that Xiaomi is aiming to refine both performance and imaging capabilities, especially with the inclusion of more advanced telephoto camera systems.

The standard Xiaomi Civi 6 is said to feature a 6.59-inch display with 1.5K resolution, offering a balance between sharp visuals and power efficiency. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset, positioning it firmly in the upper mid-range segment. One of the key highlights could be a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera supporting up to 5x optical zoom.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Civi 6 Pro is expected to build on this foundation with even more premium capabilities. Both devices are tipped to include 50-megapixel periscope cameras, suggesting a strong focus on long-range photography across the lineup. The Civi 6 Pro is also expected to succeed the previous Xiaomi Civi 5 Pro, which launched with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery, indicating that Xiaomi may continue refining performance and imaging balance in its next-generation models.

Xiaomi 17 Max Leak Suggests Launch Window, Pricing, and Core Specs for Xiaomi 17 Max

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to expand its 17 series with a new model, the Xiaomi 17 Max, expected to launch next month. The current lineup, which debuted in India in March, includes the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra. The 17 Max is anticipated to be the final addition to the series, offering enhanced specifications and premium features compared to the standard models. Alongside the launch timeline, key specifications, features, and price estimates for the handset have emerged online.

Tech blogger Kartikey Singh (@That_Kartikey) shared details on X, suggesting that the Xiaomi 17 Max will arrive in May and is likely to be positioned as a more expensive option than the base Xiaomi 17. The standard model launched at Rs. 89,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, so the Max model is expected to carry a higher price tag. The leaks also indicate several upgrades in display, battery, and processing power, keeping it competitive in the high-end smartphone segment.

The Xiaomi 17 Max is rumored to feature a large 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and a premium viewing experience. Under the hood, it is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same 3nm octa-core processor that powers other Xiaomi 17 models. Battery capacity is said to reach 8,000mAh, with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging, promising long-lasting performance and quick recharging for heavy users.

Photography features are also a major highlight for the 17 Max. The handset is rumored to come with a triple rear camera setup, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultrawide shooter, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. While these specifications suggest a powerhouse device for photography enthusiasts, Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm the launch, so all details should be considered tentative until the company makes an official announcement.
