Huawei Unveils MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025) with PaperMatte Screen and Launches FreeBuds 6 Worldwide

Huawei held a major launch event in Berlin on Thursday, introducing several new devices to the global market. Among the highlights was the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025) tablet, featuring an advanced Tandem OLED PaperMatte display designed for a paper-like reading experience. The tablet is powered by a dual-cell 5,050mAh battery system with support for rapid 100W wired charging, promising long usage times and quick top-ups. Alongside the tablet, Huawei also unveiled the FreeBuds 6 true wireless earphones, which boast 11mm dynamic drivers paired with micro-flat tweeters, offering impressive sound quality and a total playback time of up to 36 hours. The FreeBuds 6 were initially released in China earlier this year.

In terms of pricing and availability, the MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025) is priced at EUR 849.99 (about Rs. 81,600) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant in Italy and select European markets. The higher-end 12GB + 512GB model is listed at EUR 999.99 (roughly Rs. 96,000). Buyers can choose between Black and Green color options. Meanwhile, the Huawei FreeBuds 6 carry a price tag of EUR 159 (approximately Rs. 15,300) and come in Black, Purple, and White. Both products are available now through Huawei’s official online store.

The MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025) tablet sports a vibrant 12.2-inch Tandem OLED PaperMatte display with a resolution of 1840 x 2800 pixels, delivering sharp visuals at 274 pixels per inch. The screen supports a high refresh rate of 144Hz and a peak brightness level of 2,000 nits, ensuring smooth and vivid viewing in various lighting conditions. It also covers the P3 wide color gamut and boasts a Delta E accuracy of less than 1, indicating excellent color precision. The display offers an immersive viewing experience with a 92% screen-to-body ratio.

Under the hood, Huawei has yet to reveal the specific chipset powering the MatePad Pro 12.2 (2025). The tablet runs HarmonyOS 4.3 and is equipped with 12GB of RAM along with up to 512GB of internal storage. It includes a quad-speaker setup for rich audio, a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and an 8-megapixel front camera for video calls and selfies. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, Wi-Fi 7 support, Bluetooth 5.2, USB 3.1 Gen 1, and multiple satellite navigation systems like GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, and QZSS. The device measures 182.53 x 271.25 x 5.5 mm and weighs just 508 grams, making it both powerful and portable.
