Samsung Rolls Out One UI 8 Beta to Galaxy S24 and Z Fold 6 in Global Markets

Samsung first introduced One UI 8 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 in July.

Samsung has officially announced the expansion of its One UI 8 Beta programme to additional Galaxy devices and international markets. The Android 16-based beta, which introduces multimodal features along with enhancements in productivity, accessibility, and security, is now being extended to more users. The programme will cover older flagships such as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6, among others.

One UI 8 Beta Expansion to More Devices

In a newsroom post, the South Korean giant revealed that the beta will be rolled out starting next week in India, South Korea, the UK, and the US. Users can join the testing programme by registering through the Samsung Members app. This expansion comes as part of Samsung’s larger effort to accelerate updates across a broader range of Galaxy smartphones and foldables.

More Models Coming Soon

The company also confirmed that more devices will join the beta in September. Eligible models include the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and mid-range options such as the Galaxy A36 5G, A55 5G, A35 5G, and A54 5G. However, Samsung clarified that not all regions will receive identical features, as some functionalities may vary depending on the market. At present, the beta programme is active in 36 countries worldwide.

Context and Launch Timeline

Samsung first introduced One UI 8 alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE during the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event in July. The beta testing for the Galaxy S25 series and older devices was initially expected to begin in June but faced delays. With this latest rollout, Samsung is moving closer to a wider adoption of Android 16 across its ecosystem, strengthening its position as one of the most consistent OEMs in delivering timely software updates.
