Xiaomi 14 Ultra Design Revealed in Hands-on Images, Hinting at Leica-Branded Cameras

Observation: Xiaomi 14 Ultra Quad Camera Appears Marginally Larger than Predecessor

In October of the previous year, Xiaomi debuted the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro in China, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and introducing the innovative HyperOS interface. Speculation abounds regarding the imminent addition of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra to this distinguished lineup. Recently surfaced online, hands-on images of the purported Xiaomi 14 Ultra grant enthusiasts an up-close view of the device’s design. Notably, these images showcase a quad-camera arrangement prominently featuring a periscope lens situated on the lower right side. Anticipation surrounds the expectation that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Initially shared on Coolapk and subsequently removed (circulated via SlashLeaks), these hands-on images purportedly showcase a prototype of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra ensconced within a protective case designed for the camera array. Evident from the visuals, the device exhibits a conspicuous camera bump on its rear, particularly highlighting the placement of a periscope lens on the lower right side of the device. Additionally, keen observers note that the camera module seems marginally larger in comparison to its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, potentially hinting at enhancements and advancements within the upcoming Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

The images have a white label on the back. The writing ‘N1’ on the label indicates Leica branded cameras, ‘EU’ suggests a European variant and ‘P2’ gives the assumption that the unit shown is a prototype used for internal testing by engineers. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Vivo X100 Pro are also shown in one of the photos.

Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to go official in March. It is tipped to come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is expected to pack four 50-megapixel cameras with a Sony LYT900 as the primary sensor with an f/1.63 aperture. It is tipped to run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and is said to have slightly curved screens and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner for authentication. It is rumoured to house a 5,180mAh battery with 90W wired charging support and 50W wireless charging support.

Expected to join the lineup comprising the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is anticipated to expand Xiaomi’s array of offerings. Launched in China back in October, the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro stand out with their utilization of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and the incorporation of Xiaomi’s proprietary HyperOS interface. These models boast LTPO OLED displays capable of delivering up to 2K resolution, complemented by a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, showcasing Xiaomi’s commitment to innovative technology and imaging capabilities.
