Honor Power 2 Unveiled With 10,080mAh Battery and Dimensity 8500 Elite Chip

Honor has expanded its smartphone portfolio in China with the launch of the Honor Power 2, introducing a device that places a strong emphasis on battery capacity and performance. The new handset arrives as the latest model in the Power series and will be offered in multiple colour options along with two storage variants for Chinese consumers.

One of the key highlights of the Honor Power 2 is its massive 10,080mAh battery, which is designed to deliver extended usage on a single charge. To complement the large battery, Honor has included support for 80W wired fast charging, enabling quicker top-ups despite the high capacity. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

In terms of pricing, the Honor Power 2 starts at CNY 2,699 (approximately Rs. 35,000) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The higher-end model, which offers 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, is priced at CNY 2,999 (around Rs. 39,000). The device will be available for purchase in China starting January 9 through Honor’s official online store.

On the software front, the Honor Power 2 runs MagicOS 10, based on Android 16. It features a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,200 x 2,640 pixels and supports up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen also offers 3,840Hz PWM dimming, HDR support, and the ability to display 1.07 billion colours. Honor has integrated several eye-protection technologies, including Low Blue Light, Extreme Dark Mode, Oasis Eye Protection, AI Defocus Vision Soothing, and Natural Light-like Eye Protection. For photography, the handset is equipped with a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor.

Redmi Note 15 5G Debuts in India With 108MP Camera and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

Xiaomi has officially introduced the Redmi Note 15 5G in India, positioning it as the latest addition to its popular midrange Note series. Marketed as the “108 MasterPixel Edition,” the new smartphone succeeds the Redmi Note 14 5G, which made its debut in December 2024. At the core of the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, which the company claims offers over 30 percent faster multitasking performance compared to its predecessor.

The Redmi Note 15 5G places a strong emphasis on photography and battery life. It features a 108-megapixel primary camera designed to deliver detailed images across different lighting conditions, while a large 5,520mAh battery aims to support all-day usage. In terms of pricing, the Redmi Note 15 5G starts at Rs. 19,999 for the base variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, while the 256GB storage model is priced at Rs. 21,999. These prices include a bank discount of Rs. 3,000, which is available on select Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and SBI Card transactions. Buyers also receive complimentary subscriptions, including two months of YouTube Premium, three months of Spotify Premium Standard, and six months of Google One.

On the software front, the dual-SIM Redmi Note 15 5G runs Android 15-based HyperOS 2 out of the box. Xiaomi has committed to providing four years of Android OS updates and six years of security patches, with an OTA update to HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 planned in the future. The smartphone sports a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 3,200 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, along with microSD card support.

For imaging, the handset comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising a 108-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. On the front, a 20-megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls. The rear cameras support video recording at up to 4K resolution at 30fps, while the front camera is limited to 1080p at 30fps.

Nubia appears to be preparing for the launch of its next gaming-focused smartphone, the Red Magic 11 Air, which is expected to succeed the Red Magic 10 Air in China. Although the company has not officially announced a launch timeline, recent benchmark activity suggests that the device is already in advanced testing stages.

The Red Magic 11 Air has reportedly been spotted on the Geekbench database, offering an early glimpse into its performance capabilities. An unannounced Nubia handset carrying the model number NX799J appeared on the platform on January 5, and this model is widely believed to correspond to the upcoming Red Magic 11 Air. The listing reveals strong benchmark results, with 3,075 points recorded in the single-core test and 9,934 points in the multi-core test.

According to the benchmark details, the tested prototype was equipped with 16GB of RAM and was running on Android 16, indicating that Nubia may ship the device with the latest version of Google’s operating system. The Geekbench entry also highlights an octa-core Qualcomm Armv8 processor, featuring a prime core clocked at up to 4.32GHz alongside six performance cores operating at 3.53GHz, which points to the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

Beyond performance, leaks suggest that the Red Magic 11 Air will focus heavily on display quality and battery life. The smartphone is rumoured to sport a large 6.85-inch OLED screen and house a massive 7,000mAh battery, a combination aimed at delivering extended gaming sessions with immersive visuals. More details are expected to surface as Nubia moves closer to the official launch.
