Nvidia’s advanced B300 AI servers are now reportedly selling for nearly $1 million each in China, almost double their U.S. price, as tighter American export restrictions and anti-smuggling enforcement create severe supply shortages. According to industry sources, the scarcity has transformed the B300 into one of China’s most expensive and sought-after AI computing assets.

The B300, equipped with eight GPUs and designed for high-performance AI inference, normally costs around $550,000 in the United States. In China, however, prices have surged to roughly 7 million yuan due to shrinking grey-market channels and rising demand from major Chinese technology firms racing to expand AI model deployment.

China’s growing need for AI infrastructure is accelerating the premium. Local firms are under pressure to secure hardware capable of efficiently processing tokens, a key monetization factor for generative AI systems. At the same time, many companies are cautious about directly owning restricted Nvidia systems because of potential exposure to U.S. sanctions.

The market disruption intensified after U.S. legal action against individuals tied to Nvidia partner Supermicro, further constraining unofficial supply routes. As a result, some Chinese companies are shifting from direct purchases to rentals, with monthly leasing costs reaching as high as 190,000 yuan.

This environment is also creating strategic opportunities for domestic rivals such as Huawei, which aims to capture market share as uncertainty around Nvidia’s H200 and B300 exports continues. Despite sanctions, Nvidia still holds a dominant position in China’s AI chip market, but prolonged restrictions may accelerate local alternatives and reshape competitive dynamics.

Oppo has officially confirmed that its upcoming Reno 16 series will be launching soon in China, with reservations already open ahead of the unveiling. The announcement was made through the company’s official account on Weibo, signalling that the next-generation Reno lineup is entering its final pre-launch phase.

The Reno 16 series is expected to include at least two models: the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro. These devices are set to succeed the Reno 15 lineup and have already appeared on Oppo’s official online store as well as major Chinese e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD.com, Douyin, and Pinduoduo, where users can place early reservations.

As part of the pre-booking campaign, Oppo is offering promotional benefits worth CNY 278 for customers who reserve the devices with a nominal deposit of CNY 1. While the company has not yet revealed full specifications, early leaks suggest that the series could feature MediaTek Dimensity processors along with a high-resolution 200-megapixel primary camera sensor.

Although Oppo has not confirmed an international launch timeline, reports indicate that the Reno 16 series may expand to global markets between July and August. If it follows the same pattern as the Reno 15 series, the phones could later arrive in regions like India after their initial debut in China.

In a post shared on LinkedIn, Pullan confirmed his resignation and reflected on his long career with Samsung India. He noted that his journey included key milestones such as expanding the reach of Galaxy smartphones across Indian households and building stronger sales and operational frameworks for the brand in the country.

During his tenure, Pullan played an important role in strengthening Samsung’s position in the highly competitive Indian smartphone market. His leadership covered multiple responsibilities, including heading sales for the MX division and overseeing supply operations, where he focused on improving efficiency and scaling distribution networks across regions.

Following his departure, reports suggest that Aditya Babbar, who currently serves as Vice President and Head of Product Marketing and E-Commerce within the Mobile Experience division, is expected to take over leadership responsibilities. The change comes at a time when Samsung continues to hold a strong position in India’s smartphone market, consistently ranking as one of the top brands alongside competitors like Apple Inc. and Xiaomi.
