Samsung Unveils Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro Powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 3
Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro in select global markets, expanding its lineup of rugged devices. Both models are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset and boast military-grade MIL-STD-810H durability standards. They feature IP68-certified dust and water resistance and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, making them ideal for demanding environments. Running Android 15 with Samsung’s One UI 7 on top, the new devices also come equipped with AI-powered features and offer support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.
In terms of pricing, the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro is priced at GBP 559 (approximately Rs. 63,300) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab Active 5 Pro starts at GBP 769 (around Rs. 87,100) for the same configuration. Although Samsung has confirmed the pricing, details regarding the exact sale date and broader availability are still awaited. Both devices are positioned to cater to professionals and users seeking extra durability without compromising on performance and connectivity.
The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro features a 6.6-inch full-HD+ TFT LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It includes useful features like Vision Booster, Wet Touch support, and Glove Mode, enhancing usability in extreme conditions. Powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor, the handset is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB via microSD. For photography, it sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, while a 13-megapixel front camera handles selfies.
The device is equipped with a 4,350mAh replaceable battery, supporting prolonged field use with the option for quick battery swaps. Additional features include Dolby Atmos-powered stereo speakers, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, and customizable hardware keys — the Top Key and XCover Key — for added convenience. Connectivity options are extensive, offering 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a Pogo Pin for convenient charging. The Galaxy XCover 7 Pro measures 168.6 x 79.9 x 10.2mm and weighs 240 grams, reflecting its robust yet manageable design.
