Leaks Unveil Potential Redesign: CAD Renders of Alleged Apple 12.9-inch iPad Air Showcase a New Camera Configuration

Consistency in Design: 12.9-inch iPad Air Aligns with the Aesthetic of the Current 10.9-inch iPad Air (2022).

Rumors surrounding the impending release of a 12.9-inch iPad Air are gaining traction, with leaked CAD (computer-aided design) renders offering enthusiasts a sneak peek into the tablet’s potential design. While Apple has not officially disclosed any details about this upcoming device, the leaked renders hint at a design language reminiscent of the existing 10.9-inch iPad Air (2022), albeit with a notable alteration in the rear camera unit. The envisioned model showcases a sleek profile, retaining a Touch ID button and incorporating a USB Type-C port at the bottom.

Shared by 91Mobiles, the leaked CAD renders depict the rumored 12.9-inch iPad Air as boasting a slim body and an all-screen design, reinforcing the device’s aesthetic appeal.

The tablet features speaker units strategically positioned at the top and bottom, a power button situated at the top, and a USB Type-C port conveniently placed at the bottom. Impressively, the design retains the familiar Touch ID button, aligning with the established pattern seen in previous iPad Air models.

A noteworthy departure from its predecessor is the redesigned pill-shaped rear camera unit that protrudes from the tablet’s rear. This fresh design bears a resemblance to the rear camera unit found in the iPhone X, a departure from the circular camera cutout seen in the current iPad Air model.

As Apple enthusiasts eagerly await official announcements, these leaked renders provide a tantalizing glimpse into what could be the future design language of the anticipated 12.9-inch iPad Air.

Multiple sources have claimed that Apple is planning to release the larger 12.9-inch iPad Air around March this year. Beyond the bigger display size, the tablet is expected to be powered by Apple’s M2 chip and could feature an OLED screen. The current iPad Air has a 10.9-inch display. The new larger-screened iPad Air would match the screen size of the iPad Pro display.

Besides the new iPad Air, Apple is expected to unveil a new iPad Pro lineup featuring OLED displays by June. They could run on the latest M3 chip.
