Leaked Details Reveal Apple Vision Pro: Safari Browsing, Multitasking, and 3D Object Integration Ahead of Debut

Leaked Video: Safari on Apple Vision Pro to Feature Interactive 3D Object Manipulation

Apple is gearing up for the imminent launch of its inaugural wearable spatial computer, the Apple Vision Pro, and intriguing details about the tech giant’s mixed reality headset have started emerging online. Prior to the Vision Pro’s arrival, a leaked demonstration surfaced on X (formerly known as Twitter), offering a glimpse of Apple’s Safari web browser operating on the headset. The leaked demo showcased functionalities such as resizing and organizing browser windows, along with the capability to interact with and observe 3D objects within the browser interface.

Revealed by X user M1 (@M1Astra), the demo provided a preview of Safari’s performance on the Apple Vision Pro, presenting users with an insight into the functionality of the company’s debut wearable mixed reality headset. Distinguishing itself from conventional web browsers found on personal computers, the Vision Pro promises a 3D spatial display of tabs.

Despite the removal of the leaked video from X due to a copyright takedown request, access to the demonstration remains available through the user’s Discord channel. The showcased content displayed seamless tab-switching animations, supporting up to five tabs concurrently, each tab accompanied by the name of the respective website. Moreover, the operating system, visionOS, enables users to easily view and navigate through all open tabs within an expanded window.

The leaked demonstration also highlighted an innovative feature of the Apple Vision Pro: the ability to interact with 3D objects directly within Safari. While Apple has previously enabled users to deploy augmented reality (AR) to virtually place objects around them using an iPhone, the Vision Pro enhances this experience by facilitating interactive manipulation of 3D objects within Safari, offering a comprehensive 360-degree perspective along with the option to resize objects for closer inspection.

Initially announced last year with a projected launch window of “early 2024,” recent reports suggest that Apple is on track to commence sales of the headset in the US by the end of February. Telegram Co-Founder Pavel Durov also teased a sneak peek of the app design on the Vision Pro, following its reveal at WWDC.

The Apple Vision Pro comes at a substantial price tag of $3,499 (roughly Rs. 2.9 lakh) for the headset alone. Customers requiring Zeiss prescription optical inserts for the device will have additional expenses. Initially hitting the US market, the Vision Pro is anticipated to gradually expand its availability worldwide throughout the year, although specific launch regions have not been officially disclosed by Apple.
