OnePlus Nord Buds 3: Leaked CAD Design Renders Reveal Oval-Shaped Case Design
Potential Design Update: OnePlus Nord Buds 3 May Introduce Half-In-Ear Design
OnePlus introduced the Nord Buds 2, a set of true wireless (TWS) earphones featuring active noise cancellation (ANC), earlier this year in India. Reports now indicate that the Chinese tech brand is preparing for the launch of its successor, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3. While the brand hasn’t disclosed the earphones’ release date, leaked CAD (computer-aided design) renders have surfaced online, offering a glimpse into their design. The renders suggest a departure from the previous model, hinting at a half-in-ear design for the earbuds and an oval-shaped charging case.
Renowned tipster Steve H. McFly (@OnLeaks), collaborating with MySmartPrice, revealed the CAD renders of the upcoming OnePlus Nord Buds 3. The leaked images showcase black-colored earbuds alongside the charging case. Notably, they highlight a shift in design, featuring an oval-shaped case—quite a departure from the earlier boxy design. The case exhibits a glossy lid and a matte finish on its sides, adorned with the OnePlus branding at the front. The earbuds, depicted with silicone earplugs, appear to adopt a half-in-ear design. These earphones are expected to provide touch controls, enabling users to manage calls, volume adjustments, music playback, and more.
Anticipated as an upgrade from the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 (Review), released at Rs. 2,999 in White and Grey color variants in April, the OnePlus Nord Buds 3’s specifications are anticipated to elevate the user experience further.
OnePlus Nord Buds 2 in-canal earphones offer active noise cancellation and are IP55-rated for dust and water resistance. They feature 12.4mm dynamic drivers with 111db driver sensitivity and a frequency response rate ranging from 20Hz to 20,000Hz.
The earphones have Bluetooth 5.3 for connectivity, with support for the SBC and AAC Bluetooth codecs. They feature customisable touch controls on each earbud. The OnePlus Nord Buds 2 are compatible with the HeyMelody app. Each earbud has a 41mAh battery, whereas the case has a 480mAh cell. They support fast charging via the USB Type-C port.
