Exclusive Leak: Google Pixel 9 Pro Design Renders Showcase Flat Edges and Redesigned Camera Bar
Reviving Functionality: Pixel 9 Pro Design Renders Hint at the Return of Google’s Temperature Sensor
After the successful launch of the Pixel 8 series in October, Google enthusiasts are now treated to the first glimpses of the anticipated Pixel 9 Pro, thanks to leaked renders that have surfaced online. These images, shared by renowned leaker Steve H. McFly in collaboration with MySmartPrice, provide a sneak peek into what could be the design evolution of Google’s upcoming flagship.
Notable changes include flat edges, reminiscent of iPhone models, and a redesigned camera bar, signaling a departure from the design language of the Pixel Pro models in recent generations.
The Pixel 9 Pro’s camera bar appears distinct from its predecessors, with a pill-shaped island that is no longer integrated into the frame. This deviation aligns more closely with the design seen in the Pixel Fold. Glass covers the three side-by-side cameras, showcasing a departure from the previous design and a touch of innovation. Notably, the return of Google’s temperature sensor is hinted at, adding a functional element to the device.
On the front, the Pixel 9 Pro maintains familiarity with the hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera and narrow bezels, echoing the design of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 8 series. The right side houses the power button and volume rockers, while the left side features antenna markings.
The bottom of the handset reveals the USB Type-C port, speaker grille, and SIM card tray, showcasing a rearrangement from the previous Pixel 8 Pro. The top of the phone hosts the mmWave antenna cover and a microphone, completing the comprehensive overview of the rumored design changes in the Pixel 9 Pro.
Google’s upcoming Pixel 9 Pro is said to feature a 6.5-inch display and could measure 162.7×76.6×8.5mm. By comparison, the Pixel 8 Pro measures 162.6×76.5×8.8mm and features a 6.7-inch display.
Google is expected to announce the Pixel 9 series in October. The handset could ship with Android 15 and the company’s in-house Tensor G4 SoC. We can expect more leaks in the coming days.
