Long-Term Support Assured: Samsung Galaxy F15 5G to Receive Four Android Upgrades and Five Years of Security Updates

Samsung has expanded its smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy F15 5G on Monday, March 4th. Positioned as the latest addition to the F-series, this new handset boasts a vibrant 90Hz AMOLED display and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC, promising a seamless user experience. The Galaxy F15 5G debuts in three distinct color options and boasts a robust battery, purportedly capable of delivering up to two days of usage on a single charge. Interestingly, observations suggest that the Galaxy F15 5G shares resemblances with the previously released Galaxy A15 5G, hinting at potential similarities in features and performance.

In terms of pricing and availability, the Galaxy F15 5G offers two variants to cater to diverse user preferences. The base variant, equipped with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, comes with a price tag of Rs. 12,999, while the higher-end model featuring 6GB of RAM and the same 128GB of storage is priced at Rs. 14,499. Consumers can take their pick from an array of color options, including Ash Black, Groovy Violet, and Jazzy Green. The device is currently listed on prominent e-commerce platform Flipkart as well as the official Samsung India website. Moreover, eager buyers can take advantage of an early sale scheduled for today at 7:00 PM IST, ensuring swift access to Samsung’s latest offering.

It’s worth noting that the Galaxy A15 5G, which made its debut in December last year, commanded a starting price of Rs. 19,499 for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, showcasing a significant price difference compared to the newly launched Galaxy F15 5G. This discrepancy in pricing hints at potential variations in features and specifications between the two models, prompting consumers to carefully evaluate their preferences and requirements before making a purchase decision.

The dual-SIM (Nano) Samsung Galaxy F15 5G runs on Android 14-based One UI 5. Samsung is promising up to five years of security updates and four years of OS upgrades for the new handset. It features a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Super AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. The display has a waterdrop-style notch in the centre. The handset has an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset under the hood, along with up to 6GB of RAM.
