Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Expected to Receive Galaxy S25 Edge’s LOG Video Recording Feature for Front Camera

Samsung is reportedly planning to extend a new camera feature, first introduced with the Galaxy S25 Edge, to the entire Galaxy S25 flagship lineup. This feature allows the front-facing camera to record videos in LOG format, a technique that captures a wider dynamic range by preserving details in both very bright and very dark areas. The addition of LOG video recording for the selfie camera would bring enhanced video quality and greater flexibility to content creators using the Galaxy S25 series.

According to a leak shared by tipster IposDev on X (formerly Twitter), Samsung may soon add a LOG recording option in the front camera’s user interface across all Galaxy S25 models. Screenshots from the leak show the LOG toggle appearing alongside the existing HDR option in the camera app. The feature is expected to support Ultra HD (4K) video at 60 frames per second, with a histogram overlay to help users monitor luminance and tone distribution in real time. LOG recording could be accessible in both standard Video and Pro Video shooting modes.

The Galaxy S25 Edge was the first model in the lineup to offer LOG video recording on its front camera, making it a unique selling point for that device. While the rear cameras on other Galaxy S25 variants—including the flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra—already support LOG video capture, this functionality has so far been limited to the back-facing cameras. Expanding it to the front camera would level the playing field and appeal to users who prioritize high-quality selfie videos.

Samsung’s LOG mode uses a 10-bit HEVC codec, which provides improved compatibility with editing software and efficient storage without compromising video quality. By bringing this advanced feature to the entire Galaxy S25 series’ front cameras, Samsung is clearly targeting content creators and vloggers who demand professional-grade video capabilities from their smartphones. This update could further enhance the Galaxy S25 series’ reputation as a versatile device for photography and videography enthusiasts.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE May Reuse Exynos Chip from Galaxy S24 FE, Report Claims

Samsung appears to be working on the Galaxy S25 FE, the next entry in its popular ‘Fan Edition’ line of smartphones. While the company has yet to officially confirm the device, industry sources suggest it could launch by late Q3 or early Q4 of 2025. Designed as a more budget-friendly alternative to the flagship Galaxy S25, the upcoming model may carry over several specifications from its predecessor—including the processor.

According to a report from Android Authority, the Galaxy S25 FE is internally codenamed R13, following the naming sequence used for previous models (R12 for the Galaxy S24 FE and R11 for the S23 FE). Leaked firmware information reveals that the device is expected to use the same Exynos 2400e chipset found in last year’s S24 FE, with the codename “siop_r13s_s5e9945” hinting directly at the processor’s part number.

If these details are accurate, Samsung may be opting to reuse its Exynos 2400e chip in the new FE model, rather than upgrading to a newer SoC. This could help the company manage production costs, especially with the Fan Edition series aimed at offering flagship-like features at a more affordable price point. However, sticking with the same chip means the S25 FE may lag behind competitors powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chips—possibly even trailing the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in performance benchmarks.

In related news, the report also notes that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy M36 5G for the Indian market will be powered by the same Exynos 1380 processor used in the Galaxy M35 5G. This further suggests Samsung is focused on maintaining consistency across its midrange devices, though some fans may be disappointed by the lack of significant performance upgrades in the S25 FE. As always, more details are expected to emerge closer to the official launch window.

Galaxy S25 Edge European Pricing and Storage Options Surface Ahead of Launch

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Pricing and Storage Details Emerge Ahead of Launch

As anticipation builds around the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, new reports suggest that the smartphone may officially debut on May 13. While Samsung has yet to confirm the launch date, the device has already surfaced on multiple European e-commerce websites. These early listings provide insight into potential pricing and storage options, placing the S25 Edge squarely between the Galaxy S25+ and the top-tier Galaxy S25 Ultra in the lineup.

One such listing appeared on Italian retailer Zanetti Shop, revealing both the pricing and available configurations. According to the page, the Galaxy S25 Edge will start at EUR 1,361 (approximately ₹1,27,900) for the 256GB variant. Meanwhile, the 512GB model will be priced at EUR 1,487 (around ₹1,39,800). The device is reportedly set to launch in three colorways — Titanium IcyBlue, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Silver — aligning with the hues offered for the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Backing up these claims, another listing from the retail site Epto echoes similar pricing. As per a report from 91Mobiles, the 256GB version of the S25 Edge is listed for EUR 1,363.90 (roughly ₹1,28,200), while the 512GB variant shows a price tag of EUR 1,490 (around ₹1,40,000). These consistent figures across platforms suggest that Samsung may have finalized its pricing strategy in key European markets.

Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset — a customized version of Qualcomm’s high-end processor. This slim-profile flagship is aimed at users who want top-tier performance and design without going all the way to the Ultra model. With leaks steadily building momentum, all eyes are now on Samsung to officially unveil the device and confirm these details.
