Arc browser debuts Live Folders, enabling automatic tab updates for users

Fresh from its successful fundraising round, The Browser Company is enhancing its Arc browser with the introduction of a new feature called Live Folders. This feature, designed to provide a genuine alternative to dominant players like Chrome in the internet browser market, automatically generates and updates tabs within a folder based on events such as file additions to a shared folder.

As The Browser Company expands its offerings, it is also integrating more AI-powered features to deliver dynamic and automated user experiences. Among its initiatives is the development of an AI agent intended to browse the web on behalf of users, although this feature has yet to be released.

The company is rolling out Live Folders with initial support for GitHub pull requests. When a user generates a GitHub pull request, Arc will automatically generate a Live Folder within the sidebar.

This Live Folder will dynamically update tabs based on pull requests that users have created, assigned to, requested a review for, or mentioned. Additionally, the folder will automatically remove tabs associated with completed requests and tasks.

In cases where there is a new pull request and the Live Folder is collapsed, the browser will subtly expand it to draw attention to the new request.
