**Gemini App on Android Introduces Privacy Controls and Tailored Chat Responses**
Google’s Gemini borrows a page from ChatGPT with its new Temporary Chats privacy feature.
Google has rolled out two new features for its AI chatbot, Gemini, aimed at improving both user experience and privacy. The announcement was made on Wednesday, highlighting the addition of personalised responses and a new privacy setting called Temporary Chats. These updates are currently being introduced to the Gemini app for Android, expanding its capabilities in line with what users have come to expect from leading AI platforms.
The first update, personalised responses, focuses on making interactions with Gemini more tailored to individual users. By analysing details from past conversations, the AI can adjust its replies to reflect the user’s preferences, style, and frequently discussed topics. This means users can expect responses that feel more contextual and aligned with their previous interactions, rather than generic answers.

Alongside personalisation, Google has also unveiled Temporary Chats, a feature designed to strengthen user privacy. With this mode enabled, conversations are not stored on Google’s servers and are not used for training the company’s AI models. This ensures a more private and secure experience for users who may want to discuss sensitive topics without worrying about data retention or analysis.
Interestingly, while these updates are being integrated into the Android app, Google has not yet confirmed whether the same features will extend to Gemini’s web interface. It’s worth noting that OpenAI’s ChatGPT has already been offering a similar privacy option for some time, making Google’s move an important step to stay competitive in the fast-evolving AI chatbot space.
