iPhone 17 Pro Could Start at Around Rs. 1,24,900 With Doubled Base Storage, Leak Suggests
iPhone 17 Pro Expected to Cost Slightly More Than iPhone 16 Pro in the US
The launch of Apple’s iPhone 17 series is drawing closer, with less than a month to go, and rumours about pricing and features are starting to emerge. Recent leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 Pro could see a slight price increase compared to the iPhone 16 Pro. Despite the potential hike, the new model is expected to offer double the base storage, providing more value for users. Other models in the lineup are also anticipated to come with marginally higher prices.
Tipster Instant Digital, sharing details on Weibo (translated from Chinese), claimed that the iPhone 17 Pro could be \$50 (around Rs. 4,400) more expensive than its predecessor. This would place the starting price at roughly \$1,049 (approximately Rs. 91,700) in the US. In India, the iPhone 16 Pro’s base variant starts at Rs. 119,900, and the iPhone 17 Pro could debut at Rs. 124,900, reflecting a similar increase.

For context, the iPhone 16 Pro began at \$999 (roughly Rs. 87,700) in the US for the 128GB storage model. While the price increase may not be welcomed by everyone, it coincides with the expected upgrade in storage, making the higher cost somewhat justified for those who need more internal space.
The leaks also hint that the iPhone 17 Pro’s design will likely follow the current premium styling cues of the Pro models. While the exterior is expected to remain sleek and similar to the iPhone 16 Pro, Apple may introduce subtle refinements along with hardware improvements, giving users both aesthetic and functional enhancements.
