Infosys Approves Record $2 Billion Share Buyback

Infosys, India’s second-largest IT services provider, said Thursday it has approved a share buyback of 180 billion rupees ($2.04 billion), the biggest in its history. The company set a buyback price of 1,800 rupees per share, with the repurchase to be carried out through the tender offer route.

This marks Infosys’ fifth buyback, following its last repurchase in 2022–2023.

Market analyst Gaurav Vasu, founder of UnearthInsight, noted that Indian IT firms remain investor-friendly and service-driven, but suggested they should also explore mergers & acquisitions and focus on developing AI and cloud products, similar to U.S. tech giants.

Following the announcement, Infosys’ U.S.-listed shares edged up 0.03% to $16.99, while its Mumbai-listed shares closed 1.5% lower at 1,509.7 rupees.

Paramount Names Meta’s Dane Glasgow as Chief Product Officer

Paramount announced Wednesday that Dane Glasgow, a senior executive from Meta, will join the company as chief product officer. In his new role, Glasgow will shape Paramount’s product strategy and vision, with a focus on digital platforms and AI-driven capabilities.

Glasgow will report directly to Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison and collaborate closely with Cindy Holland, who leads the company’s direct-to-consumer division.

He brings extensive experience from across the tech industry, having served as VP of Product Management at Meta’s Facebook since 2021, and previously holding executive positions at Microsoft, eBay, and Google.

Paramount Skydance was created after the $8.4 billion merger of Paramount Global and Skydance Media in August, ushering in a wave of new leadership and strategic deals. Since then, the company has:

  • Secured a partnership with Activision Blizzard (owned by Microsoft) to produce a “Call of Duty” film adaptation,

  • Signed a three-year global distribution deal with Legendary Entertainment, beginning with a “Street Fighter” movie,

  • Committed $7.7 billion for the exclusive U.S. broadcast rights to the UFC for the next seven years.

With Glasgow’s appointment, Paramount is signaling its intent to push deeper into digital innovation while leveraging its expanded entertainment portfolio.

Tesla’s board has tied Elon Musk’s new trillion-dollar pay package to an extraordinary target: growing the company’s market value to $8.5 trillion over the next decade — a figure that would eclipse today’s giants Microsoft and Nvidia combined.

  • Robotaxis: Tesla aims to deploy 1 million autonomous taxis, building a network that could dwarf Uber’s business. ARK Invest forecasts up to $951 billion in annual revenue from ride-hailing by 2029, with Tesla taking a higher cut of fares than rivals.

  • Optimus humanoid robots: Musk says robots could represent 80% of Tesla’s value. To hit profit targets, Tesla might need to sell 100 million robots annually, priced around $25,000 each, generating hundreds of billions in EBITDA.

  • EVs & energy: Tesla’s auto and energy units would still contribute, but analysts agree the bulk of upside must come from next-gen products.

Investor Math
