Dust secures an additional $16 million for its enterprise AI assistants, which connect to internal data
French startup Dust has raised $16 million in a Series A funding round led by Sequoia Capital. Dust allows companies to create custom AI assistants that integrate with their data and documents, enhancing workplace efficiency.
Unlike consumer-facing tools like ChatGPT, Dust’s assistants connect to a company’s specific data sources, such as Notion pages, Google Drive documents, Intercom conversations, or Slack messages. Additionally, Dust promotes the use of multiple specialized AI assistants within a company, each tailored to address specific tasks and team needs.
For example, support teams can utilize a Dust assistant familiar with the knowledge base and past support interactions, allowing new team members to receive relevant answers from the @supportExpert assistant. HR teams can deploy an AI assistant to answer questions about corporate policies or draft job descriptions, streamlining their processes.
Engineering and data teams can benefit from assistants like @SQLbuddy, which can write SQL queries based on the company’s database schemas. Sales teams can generate draft emails using CRM data and contextual information about potential clients.
Dust also provides an API for creating custom connectors or integrating Dust assistants into other tools, ensuring flexibility and adaptability for various business needs.
