In a much-anticipated move, Infinix unveiled its latest offering, the Hot 40i, in the Indian market on Friday, February 16. This comes on the heels of its initial debut in Saudi Arabia a few months earlier. The smartphone packs a punch with its robust specifications, featuring an octa-core Unisoc chipset under the hood and a formidable 5,000mAh battery ensuring long-lasting performance. Notably, the Hot 40i boasts a dual rear camera setup enhanced with AI capabilities, while its standout feature is touted to be the segment’s first-ever 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor. Adding to its appeal, the device comes in four vibrant color options and is set to hit the shelves across the country later this month.

As for pricing and availability, the Infinix Hot 40i offers excellent value for money. It is priced competitively, starting at Rs. 8,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, inclusive of bank offers. For those seeking greater storage capacity, the 8GB + 256GB configuration is available at Rs. 9,999 on Flipkart. Enthusiasts can mark their calendars as the phone is slated to go on sale starting February 21.

Delving into its specifications and features, the Infinix Hot 40i boasts a visually immersive 6.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a buttery smooth 90Hz refresh rate, offering vivid visuals with its 480nits peak brightness.

With an impressive 89.7 percent screen-to-body ratio, users can enjoy an expansive viewing experience. Under the hood, the device is powered by the capable octa-core Unisoc T606 chipset coupled with a Mali-G57 MC1 GPU and up to 8GB of RAM, with the option to virtually expand it up to 16GB. Running on the latest Android 13-based XOS 13.0, the Hot 40i promises a seamless and intuitive user experience.

 

 

In the camera department, the Infinix Hot 40i carries a dual rear camera unit with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and an unspecified AI-backed sensor alongside a Quad-LED Ring flash. The front camera houses a 32-megapixel sensor accompanied by dual flash.

The centred hole-punch slot of the selfie camera on the Infinix Hot 40i is surrounded by the Magic Ring feature. It is a collapsible tab similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, which shows users call and message notifications and other important alerts in a comprehensible manner.

The Infinix Hot 40i is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W wired fast charging. The phone comes with up to 256GB of onboard storage that is expandable up to 1TB via microSD card. It also supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C, GPS, FM and NFC connectivity. The smartphone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance. Weighing 190g, the handset measures 163.59mm x 75.5mm x 8.30mm in size.
