iPhone SE 4 Leak: Dynamic Island Feature and Potential iPhone 16-Inspired Design

Dynamic Island: Introduced with iPhone 14 Pro in 2022

The anticipation for the iPhone SE 4 continues to grow as rumors swirl around its potential release in 2025 after facing several delays. While early leaks hinted at a design inspired by the iPhone 14, fresh speculation suggests a departure from the conventional notch in favor of Apple’s innovative Dynamic Island feature. Initially introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro series, Dynamic Island offers a dynamic display area for important notifications, a departure from the traditional notch.

This move aligns with Apple’s trend of pushing the boundaries of design and functionality across its product lineup, as seen with the recent expansion of Dynamic Island to all iPhone 15 models. According to insights from tipster Majin Bu (@MajinBuOfficial) on X, the iPhone SE 4 could potentially adopt a design reminiscent of the forthcoming iPhone 16, albeit with a single camera setup instead of the dual-camera configuration found in the higher-end models. Notably, the inclusion of Dynamic Island on the display is expected to house essential components like Face ID and the selfie camera, optimizing screen real estate and enhancing user experience.

To bolster these claims, the tipster has even provided a sketch, adding weight to the credibility of the rumor. This marks a significant departure from previous speculation suggesting an iPhone 14-inspired design for the upcoming handset, signaling Apple’s commitment to innovation and differentiation within its product portfolio.

Further, the tipster states that the iPhone SE 4 will have dimensions similar to the iPhone XR. However, the tipster suggests considering the rumours with a pinch of salt “since it is still early to talk and have certainties about it.”

Apple introduced the Dynamic Island functionality with iPhone 14 Pro models in 2022. The pill-shaped cutout at the top of the screen offers quick access to Apple Pay transactions, low battery warnings, AirDrop transfers, Apple Maps directions, incoming phone calls, music tracks, SharePlay sessions, screen recordings and more. In 2023, Apple retained the feature on the iPhone 15 Pro, and ‌iPhone 15 Pro‌ Max, while also extending it to the ‌iPhone 15‌ and iPhone 15‌ Plus

As per past reports, the iPhone SE 4 will sport a 6.1-inch OLED panel. It is expected to come with Apple’s in-house 5G modem chip. It is expected to pack a USB Type-C port for charging.

The iPhone SE 4 is believed to see light in 2025 at the earliest. The latest iPhone SE (2022) was launched in March 2022 with a starting price tag of Rs. 43,900 for the base 64GB storage model.
