Milestone Ahead: Samsung Targets 100 Million Galaxy Mobile Devices with Integrated Galaxy AI in the Coming Year
Samsung’s Galaxy AI is set to make a profound impact, reaching over 100 million Galaxy mobile devices globally by the end of this year. The announcement comes on the heels of the recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 trio at the Galaxy Unpacked event earlier this month, where the brand unveiled its new flagship smartphones integrated with the innovative Galaxy AI. TM Roh, President and Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics, confirmed this ambitious goal during his visit to India on January 29.
The Galaxy S24 series stands out with its array of AI features, including Live Translate, Chat Assist, Note Assist, and Circle to Search, enhancing user experience and functionality. TM Roh emphasized the transformative nature of Galaxy AI, stating, “With Galaxy S24, our first AI phone, we have opened a new era of AI phones, and Galaxy AI enables users to break communication barriers, enhance their productivity, and unleash creativity like never before.”
Notably, Samsung is not only focusing on introducing cutting-edge AI features but is also making a substantial commitment to the longevity and security of its devices. TM Roh announced that the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra will receive seven generations of Android OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, providing users with an extended and secure usage experience.
During his visit, TM Roh acknowledged the significant contributions of Samsung’s research and development centers in Bengaluru and Noida to the development of Galaxy AI. This underlines Samsung’s commitment to innovation and the pivotal role played by its Indian R&D facilities in shaping the future of smart technology.
As Samsung continues to push the boundaries of AI integration and device sustainability, the goal of reaching 100 million Galaxy devices with Galaxy AI by the end of the year marks a monumental stride towards making advanced AI features accessible to a global user base.
The Galaxy S24 series debuted with Galaxy AI features including Circle to Search, Live Translate, Note Assist, Photo Assist and more. The AI features available currently on Galaxy S24 phones are expected to be available on previously released flagship phones including the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 among others sometime in the first half of this year.
Samsung’s Galaxy AI and its features will reportedly remain free for users until 2025. The South Korean brand may consider introducing more powerful AI features in the future for paid Galaxy AI subscribers.
