Motorola Razr 50s Appears on GeekBench with 8GB RAM and Android 14

Motorola Razr 50s Geekbench Scores Fall Short of Razr 50 Ultra

Motorola Razr 50s Rumored to be an Affordable Foldable with Mid-Range Specs

Motorola’s Razr series has been a key player in the foldable smartphone market, and the upcoming Razr 50s is expected to offer a more budget-friendly option. As part of Lenovo’s portfolio, the Razr 50s is rumored to be a scaled-down version of the Razr 50, making foldable technology accessible to a broader audience. Recent reports have revealed key specifications of the device through a benchmarking platform, shedding light on its chipset, memory, and operating system. The Razr 50s is expected to feature 8GB of RAM and run on the latest Android 14 operating system, according to leaks. Moreover, it was recently spotted on the HDR10+ certification website, hinting at its display capabilities.

Geekbench Listing Confirms Key Specs

According to a report by 91Mobiles, the Motorola Razr 50s was recently listed on Geekbench 6, a popular cross-platform benchmarking site. The listing revealed that the device is equipped with a motherboard labeled ‘aito,’ which houses a chipset based on ARMv8 architecture. The processor appears to have eight cores—four performance cores clocked at 2.50GHz and four efficiency cores running at 2.0GHz. Although the specific chipset was not disclosed in the listing, speculations suggest that it could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X SoC, the same chipset found in the global version of the Razr 50.

Performance and Benchmarks

The Razr 50s, listed with 7.28GB of RAM (likely marketed as 8GB), achieved Geekbench scores of 1,040 in the single-core test and 3,003 in the multi-core test. These scores position the device as a solid mid-range performer, but they fall significantly short of the higher-end Razr 50 Ultra. The Razr 50 Ultra scored 1,926 and 4,950 points in the same tests, showcasing a considerable performance gap. This suggests that while the Razr 50s is aimed at budget-conscious consumers, it won’t match the raw power of its more premium sibling.

Software and Operating System

One of the highlights of the Razr 50s is that it will come with Android 14 out of the box. Android 14 brings several enhancements in performance, security, and customization, which should improve the overall user experience. Being one of the first devices to launch with this version of Android, the Razr 50s could benefit from the latest updates in foldable-screen optimization, further enhancing its usability.

Display and HDR10+ Certification

In addition to the benchmark leak, the Razr 50s was also spotted on the HDR10+ certification website. This certification suggests that the Razr 50s will support high dynamic range (HDR) content, making it ideal for streaming video and other media consumption. While specific details about the screen size and resolution have yet to be confirmed, the HDR10+ support implies that the device will deliver a vivid and immersive display experience, which is a hallmark of foldable phones.

A More Accessible Foldable?

With its rumored mid-range specs, the Motorola Razr 50s seems to be designed for users who want to experience the novelty of a foldable smartphone without breaking the bank. While it may not deliver the top-tier performance of the Razr 50 Ultra, it promises a competitive price-to-performance ratio, particularly for users seeking a stylish, foldable device that meets everyday needs. As more details emerge, it will be interesting to see how Motorola positions the Razr 50s in an increasingly competitive foldable market.
