Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+: Possible TDRA Website Sighting Hints at Imminent Launch
Speculations surrounding the imminent launch of the Realme 12 series gain momentum with recent reports. While official details for the anticipated Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ remain undisclosed, indications point to their potential unveiling following their purported appearance on the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) website. The listing further hints at the inclusion of 5G connectivity within the Realme 12 series. Notably, both the Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ are rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. Adding to the intrigue, these handsets have also made an appearance on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, further fueling anticipation for their impending launch.
Realme 12 Pro and Realme 12 Pro+ have appeared on the TDRA website with model numbers RMX3842 and RMX3840, respectively. The listing confirms the exact monikers and indicates 5G connectivity on the handset. These model numbers were spotted on the BIS website previously. However, the TDRA listing does not reveal any further details about the two phones.
The Realme 12 series will run on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. It is expected to debut in the mid-range smartphone segment priced around CNY 2,000 (roughly Rs. 23,000). The Realme 12 Pro+ is tipped to come with a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera that could offer 3x optical zoom. The Realme 12 Pro is said to get a Sony IMX709 sensor with 2x optical zoom.
In May, the Realme 11 series was initially unveiled in China, introducing the Realme 11, Realme 11 Pro, and Realme 11 Pro+ models. Subsequently, the Pro and Pro+ variants made their debut in India in June, marked with initial price points of Rs. 23,999 and Rs. 27,999, respectively. Later in August, the standard model was launched in the country, commencing at a base price of Rs. 18,999.
Each device within the Realme 11 series operates on the Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 custom skin and is powered by a robust 5,000mAh battery. Notably, while the vanilla Realme 11 and Realme 11 Pro sport dual rear cameras, the Realme 11 Pro+ boasts an impressive 200-megapixel triple rear camera setup. Distinguishing the lineup further, the Realme 11 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 5G SoC, while the higher-tier Realme 11 Pro and Realme 11 Pro+ house a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC, positioning them as powerful contenders within their segment.
