Samsung is reportedly preparing to launch two new 5G smartphones in India, the Galaxy F06 5G and Galaxy M06 5G, as both devices have recently appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. While the South Korean tech giant has yet to officially confirm the launch, the listing suggests that an announcement may be imminent. These new models are expected to succeed the Galaxy F05 and Galaxy M05, which were released last year.
Both the Galaxy F06 5G and Galaxy M06 5G are rumored to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, a mid-range processor known for its efficiency in handling everyday tasks and moderate gaming. Both devices are also expected to feature a large 6.7-inch display, providing a spacious viewing experience for users. In addition to the BIS listing, these devices have also surfaced on the Wi-Fi Alliance certification site with similar model numbers, further confirming their impending release.
Leaked design images of the Galaxy F06 5G hint at a refreshed look for the upcoming model. The device is reportedly set to feature a redesigned camera module on the rear, resembling the design language seen in the purported Galaxy A36. The camera module is expected to be a pill-shaped, vertically aligned island, adding a modern touch to the overall aesthetic. In terms of color options, the Galaxy F06 5G is said to be available in a range of attractive shades, including black, blue, dark green, purple, and orange, catering to different user preferences.
In terms of pricing, the new Galaxy F06 5G and Galaxy M06 5G models are expected to be positioned as budget-friendly 5G devices, building on the success of their predecessors. Last year, the Galaxy F05 and Galaxy M05 were launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 7,999 for the 4GB+64GB variant. With upgrades in both performance and design, the Galaxy F06 5G and Galaxy M06 5G are likely to attract a significant customer base looking for affordable 5G smartphones.
