The Realme 16 5G, launched in India on April 2, has officially gone on sale, becoming the third model in the brand’s Realme 16 series. The smartphone is available through the company’s online store and major e-commerce platforms, offering customers a choice of two colour options and three storage variants. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6000-series chipset, paired with a massive 7,000mAh battery, and supports 60W wired fast charging, making it a strong contender in the mid-range 5G segment.

In terms of photography, the Realme 16 5G features a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor. A unique selfie mirror is integrated within the rear camera module, allowing users to take high-quality selfies with the main camera. These design and feature choices highlight Realme’s focus on combining large battery capacity with versatile imaging capabilities for everyday use.

Pricing for the Realme 16 5G starts at Rs. 31,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The 8GB + 256GB configuration is priced at Rs. 33,999, while the top-end 12GB + 256GB model costs Rs. 36,999. These options provide buyers with flexibility based on their performance and storage requirements.

To encourage early adoption, Realme has introduced several offers for customers. These include instant discounts of up to Rs. 3,000 on EMI plans via select credit cards, bank and UPI discounts of Rs. 2,000, and a Rs. 1,000 exchange bonus. EMI plans are also available for up to 12 months, making it easier for buyers to acquire the device while taking advantage of the ongoing promotional deals.

Realme is reportedly working on the Realme 16 5G, which is expected to succeed the Realme 15 5G launched in July 2025. Although the company has not made any official announcements regarding the device, a recent retailer listing has offered an early look at its specifications. The appearance of the handset on a retail platform suggests that its launch in select markets could be approaching.

According to the listing, the Realme 16 5G is expected to feature a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a full HD+ resolution. The panel is said to support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and deliver an impressive peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. For durability, the screen is protected by AGC DT-Star D+ shield glass, designed to guard against scratches and accidental drops.

The smartphone is also tipped to come with extensive protection against dust and water. As per the retailer details, the Realme 16 5G carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, indicating resistance to high-pressure water jets and harsh environmental conditions. This level of protection is uncommon in its segment and could be a notable highlight of the device.

In terms of cameras, the Realme 16 5G is listed with a dual rear setup that includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor paired with a 2-megapixel secondary lens. On the front, the handset is said to feature a 50-megapixel selfie camera for photography and video calls.
