Samsung Galaxy S26+ Spotted on BIS, Hinting at India Launch Soon

Samsung has yet to officially announce its next-generation flagship lineup, but expectations are building around the arrival of the Galaxy S26 series in global markets. Recent developments suggest that the launch timeline may be approaching, especially for India, where a new Galaxy S series device has surfaced in regulatory listings.

A smartphone believed to be the Samsung Galaxy S26+ has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website, signaling that an India launch could be imminent. The listing adds weight to reports that Samsung is preparing to introduce its next flagship range in the country in the coming months.

Earlier speculation hinted that Samsung might drop the Plus model in favor of a new Galaxy S26 Edge variant. However, those plans are now believed to have been abandoned following weak sales of the Galaxy S25 Edge. As a result, Samsung is expected to continue with its traditional three-model lineup consisting of the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The BIS database lists a device with the model number SM-S947B/DS, which is widely believed to correspond to the Galaxy S26+. The “B” designation points to an international variant, while “DS” indicates dual-SIM support. Although the SM-S947 model number was previously associated with rumors surrounding the Galaxy S26 Edge, tipster Erencan Yilmaz has clarified that this identifier is in fact linked to the Galaxy S26+, reinforcing expectations that Samsung will retain the Plus variant in its upcoming flagship series.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Rumored to Include Slimmer Model With Rebranded Name

Samsung’s plans for its upcoming Galaxy S26 series may include a new ultra-slim handset, following mixed reception to the Galaxy S25 Edge. Released in May, the S25 Edge was celebrated for its slim 5.8mm profile, making it the slimmest phone in the Galaxy S lineup. Despite its design appeal, reports suggest that weaker-than-expected sales led to uncertainty about a direct successor. However, recent leaks indicate that Samsung is not abandoning the concept of a slim flagship but is instead preparing a rebranded, even thinner model for the next generation.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by user @SPYGO19726, the device — internally codenamed “More Slim” — could feature a remarkable 5.56mm thickness, surpassing the S25 Edge and even edging past the 5.6mm iPhone Air in slimness. The leak hints that Samsung may be revamping its slim-series strategy, introducing a thinner device under a fresh name rather than continuing the “Edge” branding. This approach could help differentiate the model from previous slim handsets while attracting attention for its innovative design.

The rumored “More Slim” device is expected to sport a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO 2.5 display with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals without sacrificing energy efficiency. To complement its slim profile, the phone may pack a 4,300mAh lithium polymer battery, slightly larger than the one in the S25 Edge, offering improved endurance despite the reduced thickness. The device is tipped to run on Samsung’s Exynos 2600 chipset, promising flagship-level performance within an ultra-thin chassis.

If these leaks hold true, Samsung could be positioning this new slim model as a standout in the Galaxy S26 lineup — combining cutting-edge design, high refresh-rate display technology, and solid performance. By creating a thinner, rebranded version of the Edge series, Samsung seems to be balancing aesthetic appeal with practical upgrades, potentially appealing to users who value both style and functionality in a premium smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Rumoured to Include Slimmer Model With Updated Branding

Samsung appears to be preparing a new addition to its Galaxy S26 series that could surpass the slimness of the Galaxy S25 Edge. Launched in May, the Galaxy S25 Edge was celebrated for its 5.8mm thin profile, but reportedly weaker-than-expected sales have prompted speculation about the future of the slimline model. Recent leaks suggest that instead of discontinuing the concept, Samsung may introduce a rebranded, even slimmer handset as part of the upcoming S26 series.

The new device, internally codenamed ‘More Slim,’ is said to have a remarkably thin 5.56mm profile, making it thinner than the current Galaxy S25 Edge. If true, this could position the model as one of the slimmest premium smartphones on the market, even surpassing the 5.6mm iPhone Air. Analysts believe Samsung might be using a new naming strategy to reposition its ultra-slim lineup after the S25 Edge’s lukewarm reception.

In terms of display, the ‘More Slim’ model is tipped to feature a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO 2.5 panel with an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. This would ensure smooth visuals and responsive touch performance, aligning with the company’s flagship-grade specifications while maintaining the ultra-slim form factor.

Battery life is also expected to see an upgrade compared with the S25 Edge. Reports indicate a 4,300mAh lithium-polymer battery will be integrated into the handset, alongside Samsung’s in-house Exynos 2600 chipset. This combination is expected to provide a balance of high performance and energy efficiency, ensuring that users won’t have to compromise on power despite the slimmer design.
