Xiaomi 15T Specs Surface Online, Expected to Feature MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra Chipset

Xiaomi is preparing to unveil its highly anticipated Xiaomi 15T series on September 25, with the lineup expected to include both the standard Xiaomi 15T and the Xiaomi 15T Pro. Ahead of the launch, leaks have provided a closer look at the base variant’s core specifications. The device is rumored to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, a 120Hz AMOLED display, and a large 5,500mAh battery, placing it firmly in the premium mid-range smartphone segment.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Xiaomi 15T will sport a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen, complete with a 120Hz refresh rate and built-in eye-care technology for reduced strain during extended use. The phone is also tipped to arrive with a Leica-branded rear camera setup, including a Leica Summilux optical lens, suggesting that photography will be a major focus for the series. This aligns with Xiaomi’s ongoing partnership with Leica, which has been featured in several of its recent flagship models.

Under the hood, the handset is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra chipset, first introduced with the Poco X7 Pro 5G earlier this year. While the Xiaomi 15T is confirmed to run on HyperOS, it remains unclear whether the device will ship with the newly announced HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 or stick with the existing version. Complementing the processor is a 5,500mAh battery that may support 67W fast charging, offering a strong balance between performance and endurance.

Adding credibility to the leaks, a smartphone with the model number Xiaomi 25069PTEBG—believed to be the Xiaomi 15T—recently appeared on Geekbench. The listing suggested an octa-core CPU configuration with a prime core clocked at 3.25GHz, three performance cores at 3.00GHz, and four efficiency cores at 2.10GHz. On benchmark tests, the device scored 1,336 in AI single-precision, 1,356 in half-precision, and 1,974 on the quantised test. The entry also showed the handset running Android 15 with 12GB of RAM, reinforcing expectations of a performance-driven smartphone ahead of its official debut.

Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro Codenames and Model Numbers Uncovered in HyperOS 2.1 Code

Xiaomi is reportedly working on its next-generation T series smartphones, the Xiaomi 15T and Xiaomi 15T Pro. While the official launch is still months away, leaks surrounding the devices have already begun surfacing online. The latest reports suggest that the Xiaomi 15T series will feature upgraded chipsets, with the standard Xiaomi 15T expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra, while the Pro variant could sport the high-performance MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ SoC. These early details hint at a significant performance boost over their predecessors, the Xiaomi 14T series.

According to a report by Smartprix, references to the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro have been discovered within the latest HyperOS 2.1 code. The report reveals that Xiaomi has assigned unique codenames to these devices—“klimt” for the Xiaomi 15T and “turner” for the Xiaomi 15T Pro. These names are inspired by renowned painters Gustav Klimt and J.M.W. Turner, continuing Xiaomi’s tradition of using artistic themes for its device codenames.

Interestingly, the leaks suggest that the Xiaomi 15T Pro shares its internal codename with the upcoming Redmi K80 Ultra. This could indicate that both devices will have nearly identical hardware specifications. However, while the Redmi K80 Ultra is expected to remain exclusive to the Chinese market, the Xiaomi 15T Pro is likely to be released globally. This aligns with Xiaomi’s past strategy of differentiating models for different regions while maintaining similar core hardware.

While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed any details about the Xiaomi 15T series, these early leaks provide insight into the company’s upcoming lineup. If the rumored specifications hold true, the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro could offer impressive performance enhancements, positioning them as strong contenders in the premium mid-range segment. More details are expected to surface in the coming months as the development progresses.
