Tecno Unveils Tecno Pocket Go and Dynamic 1 Robot Dog Featuring AR Glasses at MWC 2024: Key Features

At the forefront of technological innovation, Tecno unveiled two groundbreaking creations at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, promising to redefine the gaming and companion experience. The first, known as the Tecno Pocket Go, represents a leap forward in alternate reality (AR) gaming technology. Positioned as the world’s inaugural Windows-based AR gaming kit, the Tecno Pocket Go boasts immersive 6D gameplay, offering gamers an unparalleled level of immersion and engagement. Complementing this futuristic gaming experience is the Dynamic 1 robot dog, an AI-driven biomorphic companion inspired by the noble German Shepherd. Tecno envisions the Dynamic 1 as the quintessential pet-like companion of the future, combining cutting-edge technology with endearing companionship.

Under the hood, the Tecno Pocket Go is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, coupled with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a capacious 1TB PCle 4.0 SSD storage. This formidable hardware configuration ensures seamless performance and rapid data access, allowing gamers to enjoy smooth, lag-free gameplay sessions. Moreover, the inclusion of a 50Wh replaceable battery ensures extended gaming sessions without interruption, catering to the needs of avid gamers on the go. Despite its robust performance capabilities, the Tecno Pocket Go prides itself on its sleek and portable design, featuring a wireless console that is 50 percent smaller and 30 percent lighter than traditional Windows gaming handheld consoles.

In tandem with the Tecno Pocket Go, Tecno introduces the Dynamic 1 robot dog, designed to offer companionship and entertainment in equal measure. Boasting advanced AI capabilities, the Dynamic 1 exudes lifelike behavior and responsiveness, mimicking the endearing traits of a real-life pet. Whether accompanying users on their daily adventures or providing comfort and companionship at home, the Dynamic 1 represents a seamless fusion of technology and companionship, epitomizing Tecno’s commitment to innovation and user-centric design.

The Pocket Go console is meant to be paired with an AR headset called the AR Pocket Vision, according to a GSMArena report. The glasses also feature a 0.71-inch micro-OLED screen that is said to offer vision support almost equal to a 215-inch television from 6 metres away. It also has adjustable diopter settings of up to 600 degrees.

According to the aforementioned report, the Tecno Pocket Go also comes with a Tecno Smart Box that is meant to serve as a central console for controlling games and settings. It will also enable the AR Pocket Vision and Pocket Go wireless controller to connect with other Tecno devices and function as a portable workstation.

Tecno also unveiled the Tecno Dynamic 1 which is an AI-backed robotic dog with a 15,000mAh battery. It is said to allow a wide range of controls including smartphones, remote controls and voice commands. The machine is powered by an unspecified octa-core chipset and is equipped with binocular and infrared sensors alongside Intel’s Realsense D430 camera. With a torque output of 45 Nm/kg, the machine can perform several physical tasks, like going up and down the stairs, jumping, shaking hands and even handstands.

The company has yet to confirm the launch of these products. Although it is quite likely that the Tecno Dynamic 1 will not even be commercialised. It could just remain as an exercise which proves the technological prowess and advancement of the firm’s research and development.
