Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport Set Launch in China: Key Details Revealed
Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport Expected to Feature e-SIM Support for Calls and Texts Without a Smartphone
Xiaomi has officially announced the upcoming launch of the Watch S4 Sport, set to debut during the annual conference hosted by Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, on July 19 at 7 PM local time (4:30 PM IST) in China. This event will not only showcase the new smartwatch but also introduce several other products across various categories. The Watch S4 Sport is being billed as Xiaomi’s “first professional sports smartwatch,” boasting features designed to cater to fitness enthusiasts and tech-savvy users alike.
The Watch S4 Sport is expected to be equipped with a titanium chassis and sapphire glass on both the front and back, enhancing its durability and aesthetic appeal. A rotating crown, located on the right side of the smartwatch, will allow users to navigate through the device’s features with ease. Additionally, the teaser images suggest that the smartwatch will feature a circular dial and a button positioned below the rotating crown. Users will likely have the option to choose between two band styles: silicone and metal.
Speculation about the smartwatch’s specifications includes a potential OLED display, as hinted by a listing on the Chinese TAF certification website. The Watch S4 Sport is anticipated to be powered by a 586mAh battery, supporting 10W charging, which should offer ample usage time between charges. Heart-rate monitoring is expected to be a core feature, along with possible e-SIM capabilities, enabling users to make calls and respond to text messages independently of their smartphones.
Additional features may include GPS and NFC support, further enhancing the smartwatch’s functionality. These features would make the Watch S4 Sport a versatile companion for both daily use and sports activities, providing users with comprehensive tracking and connectivity options.
In conjunction with the Watch S4 Sport, Xiaomi will unveil several other products during the conference. These include the Mix Fold 4, Mix Flip, Redmi K70 Ultra, Buds 5, and Smart Band 9. The Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and run on Android 14 with the HyperOS skin. The Mix Fold 4 will feature a Leica Summilux quad-camera setup, including two telephoto dual macro cameras with a 5X periscope lens.
Overall, the launch event promises to introduce a range of innovative products, with the Xiaomi Watch S4 Sport standing out as a highlight for those interested in advanced wearable technology.
