Assassin’s Creed Shadows Trailer Unveils Dual Protagonists, Release Date Set for November 15

Set in 16th-Century Japan, Play as Shinobi Naoe and Samurai Yasuke

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the highly anticipated next installment in Ubisoft’s renowned stealth/action-RPG franchise, is set for release on November 15. The game will be available across multiple platforms including PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Amazon Luna. Originally known as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, this title delves into the much-anticipated setting of Feudal Japan, featuring two unique protagonists with distinct playstyles and abilities. Ubisoft unveiled the game with an expansive cinematic trailer, offering a detailed look at its dual protagonists and rich Japanese setting.

Ubisoft promises a sprawling open world filled with varied landscapes, dynamic weather systems, and changing seasons. The game’s setting in 16th-century Feudal Japan will immerse players in the era’s culture and history. Players will take on the roles of Naoe, a nimble and stealthy shinobi assassin from the Iga Province, and Yasuke, an imposing samurai inspired by the historical figure of the same name. Each protagonist brings a unique approach to gameplay: Naoe excels in stealth and precision assassinations, while Yasuke is a master of brute strength and combat.

The narrative of Assassin’s Creed Shadows revolves around the intertwined stories of these two protagonists. As players progress, they will encounter significant historical figures and events, contributing to a larger narrative that aims to “usher in a new era for Japan.” Both characters will have their own progression paths, skills, and weapon choices, providing diverse ways to tackle missions and challenges.

With its dual protagonists, Assassin’s Creed Shadows offers a fresh take on the franchise’s classic gameplay. Naoe’s stealth-focused abilities contrast with Yasuke’s combat-centric skills, ensuring that players can choose their preferred playstyle or switch between the two for a varied experience. This duality not only enhances gameplay diversity but also enriches the story, providing different perspectives on the events unfolding in Feudal Japan.

The game’s blend of historical intrigue, dual protagonists, and rich setting promises to deliver a compelling addition to the beloved franchise.
