Square Enix has announced that the upcoming season of Foamstars, its 4v4 online party shooter, will be the final one for the game. The new season, titled “The Party Goes On,” is set to begin on December 13 and will run until January 17, 2025. This season will mark the conclusion of seasonal updates for the game. Despite this, Square Enix confirmed that Foamstars will remain online and accessible for players after the last update, allowing the community to continue playing the game even without new content.
In an official update posted on its website, Square Enix expressed its gratitude to the Foamstars community, thanking players for their support throughout the game’s lifecycle. The announcement made it clear that while the seasonal updates will come to an end with the “PARTY GOES ON!” season, all online services will remain operational. This means players can continue to enjoy the game’s multiplayer aspects and stay connected with others in the Foamstars universe.
Although there won’t be any more seasonal content updates, Square Enix emphasized that they have plans to keep the game engaging. The publisher announced the introduction of the Foamstars Cup, a new series of in-game events. These events will feature challenges based on each of the game’s characters, offering players unique opportunities to participate in special activities and earn rewards. This move is intended to keep the Foamstars community active and involved, even as seasonal content winds down.
While the end of Foamstars seasonal updates marks a shift for the game, Square Enix’s commitment to maintaining the online experience means that fans of the game can continue to enjoy it for the foreseeable future. The final season is expected to bring exciting content to round off the game’s journey, and the planned events like the Foamstars Cup will provide fresh ways for players to interact and compete.
