Redmi A5 Price, Design, and Specifications Leak Online Before Official Launch

The Redmi A5 has reportedly gone on sale in Bangladesh through offline retail channels, even before an official announcement from Redmi. Several users have shared images, pricing details, and specifications of the handset on social media, revealing key features of the upcoming budget smartphone. The device is said to feature a 6.88-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 32-megapixel primary rear camera. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the Unisoc T7250 chipset. Additionally, reports suggest that the Redmi A5 might be launched in other global markets under the Poco C71 branding.

According to posts shared on Facebook, the Redmi A5 is currently available for purchase in Bangladesh via offline stores. The leaked pricing suggests that the base variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at BDT 10,999 (approximately Rs. 7,800), while the higher-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is available for BDT 12,999 (roughly Rs. 9,200). The device is shown in four color options: black, beige, blue, and green.

The leaked specifications indicate that the Redmi A5 comes with a 6.88-inch HD+ display featuring a waterdrop-style notch and a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. For security, the device includes a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. In terms of cameras, the phone is said to feature an AI-powered dual rear camera setup, with a 32-megapixel primary sensor. The front camera is expected to be an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies. Powering the device is a 5,200mAh battery, which reportedly supports 18W fast charging, though the retail box is rumored to include only a 15W charger.

The Redmi A5 is expected to run on the Unisoc T7250 SoC, which, if accurate, would mark a downgrade compared to its predecessor, the Redmi A4, which featured a more advanced Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset. Despite this, the phone’s affordability and refreshed features could make it an appealing option in the budget segment. While Redmi has yet to confirm an official launch date, the device is expected to debut in more markets soon, possibly under the Poco C71 branding.
