The Southern Railway zone enabled this feature through updates to the Passenger Reservation System (PRS). Previously, bookings closed once the train left its originating station, often resulting in empty seats and missed opportunities for passengers boarding later along the route. Now, with real-time booking open until just before departure, more travellers can access available seats.
