Virtual Staging AI enables Realtors to digitally furnish rooms in mere seconds

House staging plays a crucial role in the real estate industry, traditionally involving physical staging by Realtors before listing properties. However, this process can be expensive and time-consuming. Enter Virtual Staging AI, a startup leveraging generative AI to enable virtual house staging.

Part of Harvard Innovation Labs, Virtual Staging AI is disrupting the real estate and staging industry by offering virtual staging solutions. With 4,500 monthly paid subscribers, the startup has quickly gained traction. Bootstrapping to $1 million in ARR over the past 10 months, it currently generates over half a million renders per month.

The idea for Virtual Staging AI stemmed from co-founder and CEO Michael Bonacina’s personal experience. While searching for an apartment in Boston to attend Harvard, he encountered a listing that provided a virtual glimpse of furnished spaces. Inspired by this, and with a passion for computer vision, Bonacina envisioned enhancing this experience for Realtors and home sellers.

Following a class on startup research and development, Bonacina and fellow Harvard student Mikhail Andreev embarked on building Virtual Staging AI. Their goal: to empower real estate professionals and home sellers by simplifying and enhancing the staging process.

Virtual Staging AI’s tool empowers Realtors to enhance property listings by seamlessly adding furniture to images of empty rooms in just seconds. Gone are the days of showcasing empty spaces; instead, Realtors can provide potential buyers with realistic depictions of furnished rooms. With options to transform empty spaces into bedrooms, living rooms, offices, playrooms, and more, the tool offers flexibility and customization.

Moreover, Realtors can utilize the tool to remove existing furniture from images and replace it with different options. Whether it’s updating outdated furniture or creating a cohesive look, the tool enables quick and effortless transformations. Plus, users can revise images as many times as necessary until they achieve the desired result.

While there are numerous AI tools available for generating images, Virtual Staging AI stands out for its specialization in real estate and virtual staging. Unlike general-purpose tools that may distort property representations, Virtual Staging AI’s model is tailored specifically for real estate needs. By analyzing the 3D structure of a room and understanding its components such as floors, roofs, mirrors, and doors, the AI model selects furniture that seamlessly integrates with the space, ensuring accurate and realistic depictions.
