Apple Rumored to Launch 4th Generation AirPods and AirPods Max in Late 2024

Bloomberg Analyst Hints at Two Variants of 4th Gen AirPods Launching in 2024

Apple remains steadfast in its plans to introduce the fourth-generation AirPods and a new iteration of the AirPods Max, despite recent challenges. Reports of unusually high returns of the Apple Vision Pro headset haven’t deterred the tech giant from its trajectory. Instead, Apple is gearing up to unveil not one, but two variants of the highly anticipated AirPods, slated for release in late 2024. This development, shared by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman in his recent Power On newsletter, marks a significant update from his earlier report in October 2023.

According to Gurman, the forthcoming AirPods will mark a departure from their predecessors, boasting a comprehensive redesign. Among the anticipated changes are a shorter stem, a revamped earbud design, and a fresh appearance for the charging case.

Moreover, Apple is expected to enhance the audio quality of the new AirPods, aligning with the company’s commitment to delivering superior sound experiences to its users. Interestingly, Gurman’s insights hint at a bifurcation in the lineup, with one variant likely offering a revamped design but omitting Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

While specifics about the two variants remain under wraps, Gurman’s report underscores Apple’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. Despite ongoing challenges, including reports of returns for other Apple products, the tech giant continues to forge ahead, positioning itself to deliver cutting-edge audio technology to its global audience.

With the rumored launch of the fourth-generation AirPods and the new AirPods Max, Apple aims to set new benchmarks in the realm of wireless audio, catering to the evolving needs and preferences of its discerning user base.

Meanwhile, the more expensive variant is said to feature ANC and a charging case speaker that can be triggered to play a sound via the Find My app’s location tracking feature. That’s not all as the report also mentions that a new AirPods Pro could be unveiled by Apple in 2025 with an updated chip, which can be the company’s H3 chipset.

Alongside, Apple is also expected to refresh its top-of-the-line AirPods Max. Unlike the earphones, the headphones are not likely to get a major overhaul. As per Gurman, the new model could ditch the Lightning port in favour of the USB Type-C port and get a wired audio playback feature. Additionally, they might arrive in newer colour options. The current generation AirPods Max are available in Green, Pink, Silver, Sky Blue, and Space Grey.
