Bluesky Unlocks Post Viewing: No Login Required for Users
Bluesky, the decentralized social network positioned as a competitor to Twitter, has recently introduced a new feature allowing users to access posts without requiring a login. While individuals still necessitate an invitation to register and contribute content, they can now peruse posts through direct links.
This update also facilitates publishers’ ability to link or embed Bluesky posts within blogs, expanding the platform’s reach. Moreover, users have the option to share these posts within individual or group chats.
For privacy control, Bluesky users can manage visibility settings via Settings > Moderation > Logged-out visibility, allowing them to restrict their posts from being viewable by users who are not logged in. Notably, this setting is applicable solely within Bluesky’s website and its native app. However, the company cautioned that third-party clients might not adhere to this preference, potentially displaying posts irrespective of the toggle. Therefore, users seeking to limit their posts’ visibility to a narrower audience may opt to set their profile to private.
