Canva Launches New Affinity Apps and Canva Enterprise; Revamps Platform and Editing Experience
Canva Enhances Visual Suite and Magic Studio with AI-Powered Design Features
Canva, the widely-used online design platform, made significant announcements at its inaugural international Canva Create event held in Los Angeles on Thursday. Among the highlights, Canva introduced a comprehensive redesign of its platform, marking the most extensive overhaul in over a decade. This redesign encompasses a fresh homepage and editing experience aimed at enhancing user productivity across the board. Additionally, Canva launched a new subscription tier, Canva Enterprise, tailored for large organizations, alongside unveiling several innovative AI-powered features within its Magic Studio and Visual Suite.
The platform’s redesign is set to streamline workflows and boost workplace efficiency. Key enhancements include a new contextual editing toolbar that provides quick access to tools like the one-click background remover and AI-driven features from Magic Studio. Users will also benefit from a customizable homepage where they can prioritize favorite designs, folders, and brand templates. Organizations using Canva Enterprise can prominently display company-wide or team-specific content at the top of the homepage, facilitating seamless collaboration and content management.
Improvements to the search functionality and navigation further enhance usability, allowing teams to swiftly navigate between projects and access assets and resources with ease. These updates reflect Canva’s commitment to empowering organizations of all sizes with intuitive design tools that simplify complex workflows.
Melanie Perkins, CEO and Co-Founder of Canva, expressed enthusiasm about the platform’s evolution, stating, “We are excited to introduce a revamped Canva experience and a suite of new products to empower every organization to design. As demand for visual content soars, navigating organizational complexity is more challenging than ever.” She emphasized Canva’s mission to unify design, AI, and workflow tools, thereby democratizing access to powerful design capabilities.
Canva has initiated a phased rollout of its redesigned platform, offering early access to the first one million users through a hidden portal on the Canva homepage. For the broader user base, the revamped platform is scheduled to launch in August, promising enhanced functionality and user-centric design tailored to meet evolving organizational needs.
Overall, Canva’s latest updates underscore its commitment to innovation and user-centric design solutions, aiming to redefine how organizations approach visual content creation and collaboration in the digital age.
Affinity, a full-stack desktop design app recently acquired by Canva, launched a new version of the platform with new features such as Variable Font support, Stroke Width Tool, and support for ARM64 chipsets. The company also announced that eligible teachers, schools, and non-profits can sign up for a waitlist to get access to Affinity for free. Free licences to the eligible candidates will be provided by the company in the coming months.
