Confirmed: OnePlus Ace 3 to Run on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC; Leaked Specifications for Ace 3 Pro Surface
Official Launch Date: OnePlus Ace 3 Set to Debut in China on January 4
OnePlus is gearing up for the launch of its OnePlus Ace 3 in China next week, slated to debut alongside the OnePlus Buds 3 TWS earphones. The company has been actively teasing the smartphone’s arrival via Weibo, disclosing some of its key specifications. Confirmed details indicate the OnePlus Ace 3 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and will offer up to 16GB of RAM along with a maximum 1TB of onboard storage. Moreover, OnePlus is rumored to introduce a higher-end variant, the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro, which is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
Anticipating its January 4 launch, OnePlus has recently unveiled new posters on Weibo confirming essential details about the OnePlus Ace 3. The device is set to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, boasting up to 16GB of LPDRR5x RAM and offering storage options of up to 1TB utilizing UFS 4.0 technology. Impressively, it purportedly scored a remarkable 1,743,901 points on the AnTuTu benchmark. Further, OnePlus has confirmed the inclusion of a 9140mm square VC heat dissipation unit to manage thermal performance and has obtained several TUV SUD certifications.
In a separate leak by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, specifications for the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro were disclosed. The Pro variant is rumored to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and storage capacities of up to 1TB using UFS 4.0 technology. Allegedly, the handset will showcase a metal middle frame complemented by a glass back. The anticipated successor to the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro is projected to make its official debut in the first half of this year.
Launch of the OnePlus Ace 3 will take place in China on January 4 at 2:30pm local time (12:00pm IST). It is confirmed to come in black, blue, and gold colour options. The OnePlus Buds 3 TWS earbuds will also debut alongside. The company has also started accepting pre-reservations for the handset via its official online store.
The OnePlus Ace 3 is teased to have a 6.78-inch BOE Oriental screen with 1.5K (2,780 x 1,264 pixels) resolution, up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness and 800 nits of manual brightness. The display is rated to deliver 1,600 nits brightness in auto mode.
