Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2 Brings New Character Customizations, Photo Mode Enhancements, and More Johnny Silverhand Content
Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.2 has officially launched for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, bringing a wealth of new features and enhancements to the game. Among the highlights are expanded customization options for the player character and vehicles, an upgraded photo mode, and additional content centered around the iconic character Johnny Silverhand. The update was rolled out by CD Projekt Red on Tuesday, marking exactly four years since the game’s initial release and over a year since the launch of Update 2.1. During a livestream, the developers explained that the goal of Patch 2.2 is to provide players with more opportunities to express themselves in the vibrant, futuristic world of Night City.
One of the most exciting additions is the expanded character customization for V, the player character. With over 100 new customization options, players now have greater freedom to personalize their appearance. These options, available both at the start of the game and later through appearance editing, include new eye colors, makeup styles, tattoos, and cyberware cosmetics. This enhancement allows players to further tailor their experience, ensuring their version of V feels unique and deeply connected to the cyberpunk universe.
Vehicle customization has also received significant upgrades with Update 2.2. The in-game CrystalCoat technology, previously limited to Rayfield cars, now supports additional vehicle brands, enabling players to experiment with a broader range of paint jobs. Players can also scan vehicles to save their color schemes for future use, albeit for a fee. Moreover, CD Projekt has added the ten most-requested vehicles from Night City to the Autofixer shop, giving players more options to expand their garage with stylish rides that suit their personal taste.
The revamped photo mode is another standout feature of the update, allowing players to capture Night City’s neon-drenched beauty in even greater detail. Coupled with the added Johnny Silverhand content, which enriches his story and interactions, Patch 2.2 demonstrates CD Projekt Red’s commitment to continually improving Cyberpunk 2077. With these updates, the game offers a deeper, more immersive experience that empowers players to craft their own narratives in this dynamic and ever-evolving world.
