Death Stranding Director’s Cut to Extend Reach: Coming to iPhone, iPad, and Mac Platforms on January 30

Discount Delight: Death Stranding Director’s Cut Set to Arrive on Apple App Store with a 50% Discount on January 30

Death Stranding Director’s Cut, the intriguing title from Hideo Kojima, is expanding its reach to Apple devices, marking its debut on iPhone, iPad, and Mac on January 30. Initially launched as a PlayStation exclusive in 2019 before being ported to PC, the Director’s Cut version is making its way to compatible Apple devices, including the A17 Pro-powered iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as iPad and macOS devices running on the M1 chip or later. The announcement came from 505 Games, the studio responsible for the PC port, and pre-orders are currently open on the Apple App Store.

In an effort to entice users, 505 Games revealed that Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be available with a 50 percent discount for those who pre-order the game. In India, the discounted price for the game is set at Rs. 1,999. Importantly, the studio confirmed that the game will support universal purchase, allowing users to buy it once and access it across multiple Apple devices.

Apple’s recent push into the gaming arena is evident with its focus on bringing AAA titles to its platforms. At the iPhone 15 event in September, Apple announced the arrival of graphics-intensive games like Resident Evil 4 remake, Resident Evil Village, Death Stranding, and Assassin’s Creed Mirage on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The Cupertino-based company emphasized that its six-core A17 Pro chipset enables its mobile devices to deliver an enjoyable gaming experience with smooth framerates and impressive graphics.

While Resident Evil 4 remake and Resident Evil Village have already been launched on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, Death Stranding Director’s Cut is set to make its debut later this month. Meanwhile, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is expected to join the Apple gaming lineup later in the year.

Death Stranding was released initially on the PS4 in 2019, with a PC port arriving a year later. The game’s Director’s Cut version, with enhanced graphics and new gameplay elements, launched natively on the PS5 in late 2021. The genre-bending game is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where an extinction event opened a portal between the land of the living and that of the dead.

The game’s protagonist, Sam Porter Bridges (played by Norman Reedus), is tasked with connecting scattered remnants of society living in bunkers across a desolate United States of America.
