Free Streaming in the US: Warner Bros. and Tubi Collaborate to Showcase DC Comics Movies

Exciting Lineup: Tubi to Add The Batman, Wonder Woman, and More DC Films in 2024

In an unprecedented move, Tubi, Fox’s ad-supported streaming platform, has struck a momentous deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, set to transform the entertainment landscape for DC Comics fans. This collaboration ushers in a wave of excitement as it brings an extensive array of beloved DC movies and series to Tubi in the United States. The partnership introduces 10 new WB-branded Fast channels tailored for easy access across the service, catering to the preferences of viewers who may be averse to the escalating costs of premium streaming services like the rebranded HBO Max, now known as Max. Although the Tubi experience will be punctuated by intermittent advertisements, it opens doors for enthusiasts with offerings like classic titles such as Batman, Batman Returns, and the iconic Superman movies led by Christopher Reeve, now available alongside recent hits like Batwoman and Gotham.

Adam Lewinson, Tubi’s Chief Content Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for this groundbreaking addition to Tubi’s content library in a recent press release. He praised the partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, highlighting the monumental significance of expanding the superhero franchise films and series, which are poised to captivate new audiences and foster burgeoning fandoms among Tubi’s highly engaged viewers. The upcoming year promises an exciting lineup, featuring highly anticipated blockbusters such as The Batman, Black Adam, Aquaman, both Wonder Woman movies, Green Lantern starring Ryan Reynolds, and Suicide Squad. However, it’s worth noting that while Tubi is set to welcome these new releases in 2024, there might be a delay between their theatrical debut and availability on the streaming platform.

Furthermore, Tubi will soon roll out an impressive selection of animated movies including Batman: Death in the Family, Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox, The Death of Superman, Son of Batman, and more, scheduled to debut later this month. Additionally, viewers can anticipate the arrival of the live-action Constantine film featuring Keanu Reeves, The CW’s Swamp Thing series, and Stargirl. While Max and Netflix remain stalwarts in the realm of content offerings, Tubi emerges as a compelling alternative for audiences willing to tolerate ads. Notably, Tubi is set to serve as a platform not just for DC content but also for a broader spectrum of Warner Bros. Content spanning classic cinema, travel, romance, and horror, encompassing popular titles like Annabelle, Stephen King’s Doctor Sleep, and the Friday trilogy.

These transformative developments coincide with a significant restructuring within the DC Universe, spearheaded by James Gunn and Peter Safran at the helm of the newly branded DC Studios. This ambitious initiative seeks to breathe new life into the franchise, charting an innovative trajectory for films, TV shows, and animated series. The highly anticipated Superman: Legacy, starring David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, is slated as the inaugural film under this revitalized vision.

Despite these monumental strides in the US market, there remains uncertainty regarding when the extensive DC Comics and Warner Bros. catalogue will make its way to Tubi India, leaving Indian audiences eagerly awaiting further updates.
