Google Introduces Circle to Search Feature for Pixel 6 Series, Samsung Galaxy S23, and Beyond

Introduced initially alongside the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in January, Google’s Circle to Search feature has steadily expanded its reach across various Android devices in recent months. The feature, which offers users convenient access to contextual search results, was first bundled with other AI-backed functionalities such as Live Translate and Note Assist. Following its debut, Google swiftly integrated Circle to Search into its Pixel lineup, starting with the Pixel 8 models as part of the January Pixel feature drop. Subsequently, in March, the feature was extended to encompass the Pixel 7 lineup, further broadening its accessibility among Pixel users.

With its latest announcement, Google has unveiled plans to extend the availability of the Circle to Search tool to a broader range of Android handsets. The rollout, scheduled to commence this week, will encompass a diverse array of devices, including the Google Pixel 6 series, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. Additionally, users of select Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S23 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series, can expect to gain access to this innovative search feature, further enhancing their overall user experience.

As of today, Google’s Circle to Search feature has already made significant inroads within the Android ecosystem, with availability extending to several flagship handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, Google Pixel 7 and 8 series. This widespread adoption underscores Google’s commitment to delivering innovative features that cater to the diverse needs of users across different device platforms. As the rollout continues and more Android users gain access to the Circle to Search tool, it is poised to become an integral component of the mobile search experience, offering seamless access to relevant information at users’ fingertips.

Google’s Circle to Search was introduced in January this year with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. This was packed alongside a few other AI-backed features like Live Translate and Note Assist. However, later that month, with the January Pixel feature drop, the tech giant brought the feature to the Pixel 8 models. Earlier in March, the company also extended this feature to the Pixel 7 lineup. Now, Google has announced that more Android handsets will have access to the Circle to Search tool.

The Mountain View-based search giant has confirmed that the feature is “currently rolling out to more Android devices”. The rollout will begin this week and it will be available on the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. It will also be available on the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 as well as the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

As of today, Google’s Circle to Search feature is already available in several flagship handsets including Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro.

The Circle to Search feature allows users to search anything, instantly, without switching apps with a few gestures. Users can circle, scribble, highlight or tap anything on their screen, like images, part of an image or text, and opt for the search option. It not only gives information quicker but with Generative AI support, it is meant to aid in more complex research.
