Indaband’s latest app allows users to collaborate on music creation with individuals from around the globe

Indaband is a novel social media platform catering to musicians and vocalists seeking collaborative opportunities worldwide. The app allows users to collaborate with others, creating music together irrespective of geographical boundaries. It aims to foster a sense of camaraderie among musicians, akin to being part of a global band.

To begin using Indaband, all one needs is a pair of headphones and a smartphone for recording. Users can record themselves playing an instrument and invite others to layer their recordings on top, creating a collaborative music piece. The app offers features like uploading prerecorded files or utilizing the recording booth to add tracks atop existing recordings. With the multitrack video studio, users can record and mix multiple video tracks in different sessions, enhancing their creative output. Additionally, Indaband notifies users when someone collaborates with their tracks, enabling them to witness how others contribute to their content.

The brainchild of CEO Daniel Murta, CTO Andrews Medina, Head of Engineering Helielson Santos, and Design Leader Emerson Farias, Indaband was conceived during their tenure at Jusbrasil, a legal technology company founded by Murta. The app reflects their vision of creating a platform that transcends geographical barriers, allowing musicians worldwide to collaborate seamlessly and share their musical creations with a vibrant community.

The genesis of Indaband stemmed from the founders’ passion for music and their desire to continue playing together despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. Initially coming together during happy hours after work, the team found solace in music during quarantine and decided to channel their creativity into developing a platform that would enable musicians to collaborate seamlessly from anywhere.

Recognizing the complexity of music creation and the need for simpler tools, the team set out to redesign the process and make it accessible to everyone through their smartphones. Their goal was to democratize musical expression and facilitate collaboration among users, thereby unlocking new levels of creativity.

Indaband offers users a diverse array of curated playlists spanning various genres such as rock, jazz, hip-hop, and EDM, fostering discovery and exploration within the community. Users can engage with content by liking, commenting, and reposting videos to their followers, fostering interaction and connection.

Looking ahead, Indaband plans to introduce a feature called “Circles,” akin to clubs on platforms like Strava, enabling users to form their own communities and potentially host live events. Moreover, the platform aims to incorporate a Patreon-like feature within Circles, empowering established creators to offer paid content such as virtual lessons, thereby further enriching the collaborative experience on Indaband.
