Light Aircraft Makes Emergency Landing on Main Road in Gloucestershire
A light aircraft made an emergency landing on the A419 in Frampton Mansell, Gloucestershire, on Tuesday afternoon. Gloucestershire Constabulary reported that the incident occurred around 4:45 PM, about five miles from Stroud.
The aircraft landed on the main road, leading to road closures as emergency services attended the scene. There were two occupants on board the aircraft, both of whom were assessed by the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust. One patient was transported to Southmead Hospital, while the other was taken to Gloucester Royal Hospital.
Witnesses described the plane as appearing to have “stalled and nose-dived into the main road,” but no other vehicles were involved in the incident. Emergency responders, including a double-crewed land ambulance, an air ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, and an operations officer, were dispatched to the scene.
