Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Commences Production with Crew Photo Release

Earlier Hollywood Labor Strikes Temporarily Halted Show’s Production

Production for Stranger Things season 5 has finally kicked off, marking a thrilling moment for devoted fans. The highly anticipated Netflix series, renowned for its eerie narrative set in a quaint American town entangled with supernatural occurrences, tantalized enthusiasts with a crew photo on the inaugural day of filming, accompanied by the emphatic declaration: “THIS IS A CODE RED! STRANGER THINGS 5 production has officially begun!!!” This revelation sent waves of excitement rippling through the fan base, especially after prolonged delays caused by the Hollywood writers’ strike and subsequent industrial action by the actors’ guild. Despite initiating the scripting process shortly after the conclusion of the fourth season, the production was put on hold due to these setbacks, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of the enigmatic saga set in the Upside Down.

The Stranger Things X account recently shared a snapshot featuring the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, and a lineup of stars including Noah Schnapp, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Cara Buono, Joe Keery, Amybeth McNulty, Charlie Heaton, Brett Gelman, Maya Hawke, Natalia Dyer, Jamie Campbell Bower, Priah Ferguson, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, Sadie Sink, and Linda Hamilton (The Terminator) – marking her inaugural appearance alongside the cast since her announcement of joining the show at Netflix’s Tudum fan event last year. Unfortunately, details about her character remain scarce at the moment.

Stranger Things’ forthcoming season will serve as its concluding chapter, wrapping up the enduring sci-fi horror narrative. While the official storyline for the season’s finale remains under wraps, actor David Harbour had previously hinted to Variety that the season’s culmination is poised to be “quite moving and quite beautiful.” Reports indicate that filming is taking place in Atlanta, hinted at by social media posts from filming studios such as Atlanta Filming. However, an official release date for the season has yet to be disclosed.

Last November, the show tantalized fans by sharing the initial lines from the season’s opening scene, evoking the eerie essence of the Upside Down. The premiere episode, titled “The Crawl,” maintains the spine-chilling essence the series is renowned for, drawing audiences back to Hawkins, Indiana, as the protagonists delve into the lore surrounding the enigmatic Upside Down world.
