Nokia 110 4G and Nokia 106 4G Receive Upgrade with YouTube Shorts and Expanded Cloud App Support

Built-In UPI 123PAY Support: A Key Feature Introduced in this Year’s Phone Launches

Nokia 110 4G and Nokia 106 4G made their debut in India earlier this year, with the Nokia 110 launching in July alongside its 2G variant, while the Nokia 106 was unveiled in May. Notably, these phones came equipped with inbuilt UPI 123PAY support, enabling users to facilitate instant and contactless payments.

Now, HMD, the parent company of Nokia, is expanding the capabilities of these 4G-supported devices by introducing support for YouTube Shorts and various other cloud applications.

In an announcement made on Wednesday, December 13, HMD revealed its plans to integrate new cloud applications into the Nokia 110 4G and Nokia 106 4G, both priced at Rs. 2,399 and Rs. 2,199, respectively, in the Indian market. Users can access these additional features by simply tapping the Cloud icon and signing in with their Google IDs.

Excitingly, users of Nokia 110 4G and Nokia 106 4G can now enjoy the inclusion of YouTube Shorts on their devices. HMD asserts that these cloud services will also provide users with access to news, weather updates, and cricket scores.

Beyond YouTube Shorts, seven more applications are supported, including BBC Hindi, Sokoban, 2048 Game, and Tetris, enhancing the overall functionality and entertainment options for users of these Nokia devices.

The Nokia 106 4G sports a 1.8-inch QVGA display and runs on the Series 30+ operating system. It supports FM radio connectivity with both wired and wireless modes. It comes with an inbuilt MP3 player and packs a 1,450mAh battery which claims to offer up to eight hours of battery life.

The Nokia 110 4G shares similar display, battery and OS specifications. It arrives with an IP52 rating for dust and water resistance. Both handsets carry a micro-USB port and support Bluetooth connectivity. As previously mentioned, they also launched with an inbuilt UPI application.
