Poco X6 Series Set for January 11 Launch in India
Poco has confirmed the global launch of its much-anticipated Poco X6 series, comprising the Poco X6 and Poco X6 Pro variants, scheduled for January 11, simultaneously with the debut of the Poco M6 Pro. This launch event is also slated for India, aligning with the global unveiling. Recent leaks have shed light on the key specifications and design renders of these impending smartphones. Prior to their global release, the company has officially disclosed details regarding the processors that will power these upcoming handsets.
In a recent post on X, Poco unveiled the chipsets set to drive the Poco X6 lineup and the Poco M6 Pro. The standard Poco X6 is expected to integrate Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, while its sibling, the Poco X6 Pro, will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset. Additionally, the Poco M6 Pro is slated to house a MediaTek Helio G99-Ultra chipset. Poco emphasizes that these processors will mark their global debut with these particular models, although the company hasn’t revealed any further details about the handsets.
Reports suggest that the vanilla Poco X6 might be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G. Anticipated features include support for LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 onboard storage. The rear camera setup is rumored to consist of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 13-megapixel sensor dedicated to an ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel shooter.
Meanwhile, the Pro variant of the forthcoming Poco X6 series is speculated to boast a 6.67-inch 1.5K LTPS display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Expected to run on an Android 13-based operating system, it might offer configurations of up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB internal storage. Drawing comparisons to the Redmi K70E, the phone is rumored to feature a 67-megapixel primary rear sensor supported by optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel sensor designed for an ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro shooter. Additionally, it may pack a 5,000mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging capabilities.
The Poco M6 Pro was recently spotted in an online listing. The handset is likely to come with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ pOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Leaked design renders have shown that the phone may carry a triple rear camera unit. It may get a 64-megapixel AI-supported primary sensor with OIS support. The front camera is expected to include a 16-megapixel sensor. Poco could pack a 5,000mAh battery into the model as well, with 67W wired charging support.
