Report: Apple Pencil 3 Set to Debut with Enhanced Features in Upcoming Launch

Apple Pencil 3 Rumored to Introduce Magnetically Interchangeable Tips

Reports suggest that Apple may soon unveil the anticipated Apple Pencil 3, likely within this month. This speculation aligns with previous indications that Apple has plans to introduce several new devices over the coming months, with the recent launch of the new MacBook Air variants marking the beginning of this wave of releases.

The forthcoming Apple Pencil iteration is expected to bring forth a host of new features, including magnetically interchangeable tips and compatibility with the Find My app, enhancing both functionality and user experience.

According to insights shared by a Weibo tipster known as Instant Digital, Apple is poised to unveil the 3rd generation Apple Pencil in March 2024. This revelation echoes previous assertions made by prominent tech analyst Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, who hinted at the possibility of multiple device launches via press releases between March and April.

If these speculations materialize, the impending release will mark a significant advancement from the 2nd generation Apple Pencil, which made its debut back in 2018. While Apple did introduce a more affordable Pencil variant last year, it was not positioned as an upgrade to the existing 2nd generation model, leaving room for anticipation surrounding the forthcoming unveiling.

Not much is known about the design and the features of the Apple Pencil 3, however the report pointed out a number of upgrades it may receive. It could get a shorter body and a glossier finish, and might get multiple magnetically interchangeable tips that could be used to sketch in different styles.

It may also get support for the Find My app that will enable users to find it in case it gets lost or misplaced, as per a report by 9to5Mac. However, it is not known whether it will support Precise Location feature. It is also expected to get the USB Type-C port.

Gurman’s report highlighted that two new iPad Pro models with an OLED display could also be launched soon. It is believed that the Apple Pencil 3 might arrive as its accessory. Additionally, there are rumours that a new Magic Keyboard might also be introduced alongside. The rumoured Apple tablets could be powered by the M3 chipset, a redesigned rear camera module, landscape-oriented front camera, a slimmer body, and more.
